An unlicensed driver who struck and killed a 72-year-old Newton woman in a hit-and-run collision in Morristown in December was sentenced yesterday to three years of probation and fined $500.
The Dec. 13 incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when Andy Maguino, who was driving a delivery car for a local pizzeria, hit Alice Myers as she was walking across Mount Kemble Avenue near Doughty Street, authorities said. Myers died several hours later at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Much to the dismay of Myers' family, Maguino, a 30-year-old native of Peru who authorities say is in this county illegally, did not face any jail time under a plea deal with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

If the government refuses to stop the inflow and deport the illegals already here, I fear the citizens are eventually going to step up and drive them out by force. I can’t imagine how ugly that would get.
Next thing you know victims of illegals (if still alive) will be sentenced to jail time. The court system in this nation by many recent rulings seems to be whacked beyond comprehension. US citizens have little, if any, redemptive value to the courts, politicians or democrats presently in power.
I would take the law into my own hands were that my mother.Consequences be damned.
Oh well then, not recklessly. Just ILLEGALLY! If he hadn't been here (as he shouldn't have been), this would never have happened. And what's up with no punishment for the "run" part of the hit and run???? Despicable.

About a month or so ago, in the next town over from me, we had a drunken illegal drive his pickup truck over a curb and into a mother and daughter going to a dance class. The little girl was virtually cut in half and the mother died later at the hospital of her injuries.
Whenever I hear some local idiot talk about the “poor illegals”, it’s all I can do to keep from decking him.
Here’s a father and little boy now without the other half of their family. I guess walking from your car to a dance class is now considered a dangerous activity.
One hell of a price to pay because these people “work cheap”.
Don’t genuine American citizens have to do serious time for that?

Maguino pleaded guilty to third-degree leaving the scene of an accident.
If it was an "accident", then why did he leave the scene of the crime? Guilty!

Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if Andy ends up being a future Democratic Senatorial, Gubernatorial, or Presidential candidate.

I am not shocked at all on how an illegal virtually gets away with anything. If it were a citizen, that person gets to pay dearly. That double standard is criminal.
