KINGSTON -- A Montreal businessman charged with killing four members of his family conspired with his second wife and his oldest son to commit mass murder in a bid to restore his honour, relatives of one of the victims have told Sun Media.
The family members allege Mohammed Shafi had beaten his 19-year-old daughter Zainab and threatened recently to kill her and the woman he had passed off as his cousin.
She was his first wife, though he had concealed that fact since the family of three adults, all natives of Afghanistan, and seven children moved to Canada two years ago and settled in Montreal.
"We are convinced that this is a crime of honour, organized under the guidance of Mr. Shafi, his wife Tooba and their oldest son Hamed," Diba Masoomi wrote in an e-mail sent to Kingston Police more than two weeks ago.
Mohammed Shafi, 56, his wife Tooba, 39, and their son Hamed, 18, are each charged with four counts of first-degree murder and four counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

Shafi told police investigators that she was his cousin.
“Investigators would later receive information that would cause them to believe that she was, in fact, Mr. Shafi’s first wife,” Begbie said.”
They’re muslims! She coulda been his cousin, AND HIS WIFE!
Gosh, what lovely people. Won’t they make great neighbors?
I am glad to see these “men” are being prosecuted. That, at least, is a relief.

A Toronto man and surviving family members are mourning the drowning deaths of his wife and two daughters in a hotel swimming pool.
Naila Yasmin, 43, was found floating face down in the deep end of the unsupervised pool at a Best Western hotel Sunday morning and her 11- and 14-year-old daughters were found floating in the pool’s shallow end.
The mother was declared dead at Kingston General Hospital that day, while the 14-year-old died Monday, followed by her 11-year-old sister Tuesday, the Toronto Star reported Wednesday.

Well all I can say is thank goodness these people were caught in Canada where they can be slapped soundly on their wrists before they are released..........
This says it all. Sharia law, shrouds, death by distorted honour...the muslim cult justifies through blood and fear.
I just about fell of my chair at that comment! Canadians have been outraged by our lax laws for a long time. I, for one, consider our cops angels. They catch ‘em, the courts turn them loose.
