Jack Shaw Had Been Accused Of Taking $10,000 In Bribes JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) ―
Authorities say a political consultant who was one of 44 people arrested in last week's massive New Jersey political corruption scandal has been found dead in his Jersey City apartment.
Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio says a relative found the body of 61-year-old Jack Shaw and called police shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Federal prosecutors had accused Shaw of taking $10,000 in bribes for himself from a government informant and proposing that the cooperating witness make a $10,000 campaign contribution to an unnamed Jersey City official.
DeFazio told The Jersey Journal of Jersey City that the death does not appear to be a homicide. He said an autopsy will determine the cause of death.

I'm a little confused by this... the dead guy was not an elected official. They paid him money to influence a politician - isn't that what a lobbyist is paid to do?
It would be a crime if Mayor Healey knew that the "political consultant" was promising that Mayor Healey would make decisions based on his payments to "the consultant", and Healey was getting his cut of the money.
Hey! Look what I just found! A motive and a suspect!
Vegas won’t take odds on these guys.
