Obama's to Blame for the Birther Movement
Fox ^ | 7/29/09 | Tommy De Seno

Trust but verify.

-- Ronald Reagan

It's good practice to take a person at his word until someone shows you proof he is lying.

Barack Obama says he was born in Hawaii, and since no one has shown any proof he was born in Kenya or elsewhere, it's OK to conclude he was born in Hawaii.

Sure his grammar school records show that he was enrolled as an Indonesian Muslim, but some people will say anything to get their kid in the right school. It doesn't really answer the question.

It's OK though for others not to use my deferential standard and continue to question whether Obama was born in Hawaii. We aren't talking about a 12-year-old qualifying to play Little League here. There is a Constitutional mandate that the President be a natural-born citizen, and if Obama is not one, he certainly will have committed the biggest fraud since the White Sox threw the World Series.

The reason why people still question Obama's citizen status is one-fold: "President Transparency" has refused to release any original documents on the matter. He can end the controversy in a day by releasing original documents, but for some inexplicable reason he refuses, and his love-struck media never asks him why he won't. The media instead spends hell-bent hours on making the Birther movement look like fringy, conspiracy-hungry kooks.

You have to admit though, even if you are a devout Obama-bot, Obama's refusal to release any original documents makes for a newsworthy story by itself.

Coulter says we are cranks

and I'll never forgive her.

Why didn't she say this before the election if she believes it?

Being born in the US and thereby being a citizen is not enough to run for Pres? News to me.

You don’t spend millions to hide something like this. I don’t know what he is. But i do know he has something to hide. Those who say its about race are right. Because if he was a white guy or a republican everyone would be screaming.

But you don’t spend money to keep something hidden unless you have something to hide.

Anchor babies who are born in the US are considered full US citizens

Eligible to be President? Suppose two citizens of Saudi Arabia who hate the United States come here illegally and have a baby. After a while they move back to their own country. They indoctrinate the child to hate the United States while grooming him to be President.

Do you think this may have been one of the scenarios that the founding fathers were trying to avoid by making the requirement "natural born"?

One must remember - this would normally be the job of the state-run media. However, this scam on America did not involve GW Bush, Dick Cheneny, or Sara Palin, but rather an ultra liberal RAT, this potential story was a non-story.

This is what made me a “birther” he won’t just show the documents and end it all. WHY? If anyone wants to see mine, I will go to the filing cabinet and show them, no problem.

What the dickens is this garbage of symbols filling up the space where text was obviously offered? ... At the Fox site is the following:

School Records: The Birthers believe that Obama's records from college and graduate school will show he matriculated as a foreign born student. This is easy ÃÆ’Æ’Æ’ÃÆ’ââ‚Ãâ ... etc

And suppose an immigrant couple from Russia who despised the system there and risked death to have their baby born in the US to be a citizen had a child who was raised with more of a knowledge of freedom because of his background and was running against someone from a family who had been here for generations and who were all Code Pinkos. I'd choose the guy from Russia.

You can make any kind of scenario to fit an argument. Truth is, if you were born on US soil and have been a citizen from birth you are on equal footing with other citizens in all ways, including running for President.

You are not a NBC just by virtue of being born here. One parent must be a citizen.

Anchor babies are citizens. Courts will find no differentiation between them and other citizens.

Never said they are not citizens. I said they are not NATURAL BORN CITIZENS.

As far as I know, a court will consider them natural born since they were born here and were considered US citizens from birth. They will not differentiate.

Do you have evidence to the contrary?

Hey, wait a minute. Didn’t his paternal grandmother say she was present at his birth in Kenya and didn’t his brother also say he was born there? Given that, isn’t it reasonable to question? I thought the papers filed by Atty Philip Berg before R. Barclay Surrick had signed affidavits to that effect. To me, that gives any reasonable person a reason to question, given the absence of a reasonable response from Obama or the Democrats who are spending so much to bury it, his birthplace. Why would Keynan nationals and relatives lie? This is the stuff that doesn’t make sense. This is why it continues. I suspect there is something to it. Convince me Barack by showing you were born in the USA. I will play the Bruce Springsteen record over our intercom and tag my name to it.

Somebody is not telling the truth here. Want to venture a guess which political party it is? Remember phrases like ‘wouldn’t be a shame to keep him from political office on a mere technicality?’? Which party, given your collective conscience, considers the Constitution a ‘mere technicality?

If he really wants the Birthers to shut up, he has the power to do it by releasing the original documents. Why not just do it then?

Ever thought of the possibility that he doesn't want you to shut up?

He's very much enjoying the spectacle of conspiracy theorists making his opposition look stupid.

You are so right. You do spend all kinds of money to hide something that is perfectly innocent and demonstrates clearly that you are who you say you are.

That leaves us “birthers” to fill in the blanks to the story (and Lord knows there are plenty) to come to a logical conclusion.

So far we have:

1)Kenyan birth

2)Canadian birth

3)Davis the dad

4)incest with Stanley Ann and grandpa

5)affair between grandpa and unknown woman (Stanley Ann posing as mom)

6)issues arising from adoption by Lolo Soetro

7)substitute baby Barak coming from unknown parents

And these are just the ones from the top of my head. Some I find plausible, others not so much. But I think it is important that we all keep at this. I guarantee you that someone close to Zero is monitoring all of these theories and when we get too close for comfort, doo-doo is going to hit the fan.

You present your evidence first.

If I hear that there's some kind of precedent, I might go digging into the law.
