Theyre chemists and ChemEs - you dont get much more serious than that. Hey! Me too! You forgot Chemical Physics! ;-)
...but the only people who take THEMSELVES more seriously than AGW scientists are the psychologists and economists. Bow before the hacks!
Cheers!

Well, according to the pecking order, God talks to Mathematicians, Mathematicians talk to Physicists, and Physicists talk to Chemists (so we chemists are considered a bit more mundane than the "lofty ones"). Chemists talk to the biologists.
Biologists are like Dr. Dolittle: they talk to the anmials.
Psychologists see the biologists talking to the anmials, and talk to the doctors.
Doctors talk to politicians.
Politicians talk to God.
Thus completing the Mobius Strip of Life.
Cheers!

And now for a lighter note from an old, old edition of C&E News:
(clears throat)
A mosquito was heard to complain
"I fear they have addled my brain!
The cause of my sorrow
is para-dichloro
diphenyl-trichloroethane!"
Cheers!

"Politicians talk to God." I'm not sure God is the metaphysical being that politicians talk to. But LOL to the rest!

Here's to dear old Boston,
The home of the bean and the cod,
Where the Cabots talk only to Lowells,
and the Lowells talk only to God.

My father was a Chemistry professor and ACS member (and is one of the first ACS Fellows) and although his political views were to the left, he wouldn’t tolerate any nonsense. I hope the members manage to get Baum removed from the editor position.

I think it would be a good thing if Baum were replaced.
Apparently he's been pushing various leftwing causes for some time, and people have just gotten fed up.
My hubby was thinking about letting his subscription lapse, this just is more fuel for the fire.
Kudos to your dad! Hubby's just a working chemist (industrial chemicals).
