Dear Jim,
Would you be so kind as to mention the following to Mr. Gates and President Obama during your meeting with them:
One of the major problems stemming from the events of July 16 is that I, now known as 'the black Sergeant', have had my image plastered all over the Internet, television and newspapers. Subsequently, I have also become known, at least to some, as an 'Uncle Tom.'
I'm forced to ponder the notion that as a result of speaking the truth and coming to the defense of a friend and collegue, who just happens to be white, that I have somehow betrayed my heritage.
Please convey my concerns to the President that Mr. Gates' actions may have caused grave and potentially irreparable harm to the struggle for racial harmony in this country and perhaps throughout the world.

In closing, I would simply like to ask that Mr. Gates deeply reflect on the events that have unfolded since July 16 and ask himself the following questions:
‘What can I do to help heal the rift caused by some of my actions?; What responsibility do I bear for what occurred on July 16, 2009? Is there anything I can do to mitigate the damage done to the reputations of two respected Police Officers?’
Thank you in advance,
Your friend,
Leon K. Lashley
Don’t forget the woman who was left out of the beer-a-thon, the one who called the police trying to protect the home of an elderly woman’s neighbor.
My husband wanted Crowley to ask about the birth certificate.
Think of all that beer the White House housekeeping staff would’ve had to clean up.
Yes Crowley and, unintentionally, Obama, have truly shown Americans what race-baiting is all about. I hope the officer that wrote this letter will also help further damage Obama.
There are many reasons that Mr. gates will take no responsibility for the actions he took two weeks ago. Most importantly is the need to save face with the radicals that think they are victims of “whitey”. He started this fight and he will slink away from it just about as fast as he can. I doubt the charges will be prosecuted, after the experience with the Philadelphia I fear that it will now be open season.
Thanks to Mr Lashley for being an honest person. That’s the kind of person I want at my side when the S**t hits.
Bravo to you.
What happened to Gates’ limo driver?
The 911 report noted TWO men at the door.
Try making the guy in the mirror a hero.
Did Gates do the "irreparable harm," or did the president?

Beautiful!
I like these officers. Lessee now, do they sound like knuckle-draggers to anyone?? Sounds like they stand up to flak pretty well, thank you gentlemen, you make us proud.
Also, access their site and send an encouraging email.
I wish these two police officers were president and vice-president. They have displayed nothing but class and decency. I hope they both know that many, many of us support them in this ordeal.
I’m inspired by the love and respect shared by these fellow police officers. May God watch over them and keep them safe
“There are many reasons that Mr. gates will take no responsibility for the actions he took two weeks ago.”
I happen to believe that contrary to the idea that Gates would apologize, or at least reflect on his actions in an effort to achieve an understanding; his entire franchise is de facto based *not* upon smothering these smoldering coals, but in fanning them and causing them to flare up anew. It’s the academic variation of the Al Sharpton model. Think about it. Do we have Polish-American studies departments at colleges and universities? How about Italian-American studies departments?
Is it really different than global warming? Where the hell would all the environmentalists be if GW were definitively solved tomorrow? This is the lifeblood of the liberal activist type. Bathing oneself in a problem, imagined or not, and developing the culture of righteous victimhood to the maximum extent conceivable. The racial thing is just beautiful as a nexus for this. Because no matter what happens with Blacks in American society, the history of slavery can never, ever be expunged from “the system” or “the collective memory”. No, it’s an historical fact. And so it can (and will) always be brought out as a guilt-lever, a synthetic button to push like Hillary’s “reset” button she brought to Russia. It will never go away. It will never *not* be a valid dirtbomb to throw.
And alllllllllll the victims can get together and bemoan their distant pasts, and they can diversify themselves to study and be at one with slavery in other nations and in different eras, but of course they cannot diversify their vision to understand that their brethren were the primary slave dealers in Africa. They may briefly allow a brief glimpse into the history of the Jews in Egypt; an era which causes many Jews to feel “common cause” with Blacks, but the sympathy educed woudn’t fill the real estate on the head of a pin. Instead, Jews are far more often villified by Blacks as exploiters. Actually, everyone is. And my observation is: With a Black president in office, this is absolutely NOT the time to be abandoning this franchise. I believe that race relations will be set back 50 years by this guy. I think that black-white relations get set all the way back to the overt, hostile status of the late-60’s/mid-70’s radical Black Panthers.
How about writing a letter to the Cambridge Police Department commending officers Crowley, Lashley, and (Kelly) King?

There are only two types of people in the world, those with values and the valueless. Crowley and Lashley are those with values, while Obama and Gates are valueless.
And I for one agree with you 100%. Nothing would please these people more, gates. zero, all of them, than full blown racial unrest throughout the country. It is what he promoted in his homeland to get his cousin into an office that never existed before, when he lost the election.
Every day that passes, I am convinced of this. zero has shown it over and over.
