Swine Flu Epidemic Of 1976 inspired the vaccination of 40 Million people a little known fact was that those vaccinations caused devastating side effects to over 4000 victims. The frightening revelations about this event are the similarities today. A company by the name of Baxter international has the contract to vaccinate 4 billion worldwide. The problem is very few know that Baxter recently was caught sending tainted Bird Flu vaccines to 18 countries. This vaccination that KILLED the host it was tested on was caught just in time.

This is like a story on the F-22 fighter that sidetracks itself going on how 30 years ago a prototype F-14 crashed and killed its pilot. True in and of itself, but relating to the F-22, so what.

There were approximately 40 million flu vaccinations administered in 1976, with 500 cases of Guillian Barre Syndrome and 25 deaths attributed to the 1976 flu vaccine. That equates to 0.00125% adverse reactions causing GBS, and a mortality incidence of 0.0000625%. The notable issue in 1976 was only 200 reported cases of the flu.

Alternatively, there were 34,017 automobile fatalities in 2008, 37,435 deaths in 2007, and 38,648 in 2006. Do you drive?

I’d be more impressed with that question if there was anything in the story showing some cause why THIS vaccine line is unsafe or ineffective. If this all hangs on an unsuccessful drug produced while Ford was president, it would be equally pertinent to discuss all the drug lines produced in the last century that worked just fine. In fact of course, neither is pertinent to your “the bogeyman is hiding under my bed” post.

As to the immunity question, it’s not an issue exclusively to this disease and it’s not new. This is under the umbrella of Tort Reform.

No drug is sold without warning labels. The most benign and necessary vaccines will adversely affect some small % of its users. Lawsuits were killing many vaccine makers. Immunity legislation initially began under Reagan just trying to keep the industry alive.

Yes, I've always hated for that. Agenda driven news reportage has got to be abolished.

Actually, I was thinking of a comparison myself(a better one), I just don't have the numbers at my disposal.

How many people actually died of the swine flu of the 70's? IIRC, more died from the vaccine than from the flu itself.

Consider the past. There was evidence back then, and it was squashed.

Right now, our government is taking steps toward immunity.

That’s a huge red flag, surely you can see that.

If people want to go out and buy the vaccine for themselves, I’m all for that.

I just don’t want government cramming it down all our throats.

Therin lies the huge problem. Government wants to force private companies into warning labels for what they sell, but when government urges people into getting vaccines, they hide what should’ve been put into a warning label. And knowing there’s a problem, they want to force it on everybody under the guise of being a good and helpful government.

We’ve been screwed over too many times to buy into this.

As addressed in my previous post, there were only 200 total reported cases of the flu in 1976. To date, there have been over 43,000 cases of swine flu and 376 deaths in 2009.

Actually the beginning of this article says that 4000 were severly sickened from this vaccine. One of my husband’s business colleagues — a young engineer — nearly died from this vaccine. He was hospitalized (paralyzed) for nearly a year. His wife credits prayer and the intervention of jesus for saving him — not medicine which got him sick in the first place!

My daughter in law is pregnant with our 11th grandchild (due in November. She suffers from many allergies and has asthma. I am concerned that she will be pushed to the front of the line for this vaccine which really hasn’t been tested yet.

Watch the video at the top of this thread. The advertizing campaign that accompanied this vaccine in 1979 was unconscionable. They used names and endorsements without permission to coerce people into taking this vaccine. Luckily, none of us received these shots, and I don’t remember why. We were living in Texas at the time, and none of us fell into the parameters of the eligible groups, I guess.

And you get that figure from where? Vaccines help, to be sure, but I can't see where you come up with the figure 90%.

I believe there is a reporter from Austria who has done research on the latest swine flu vaccination and found that they also have not field tested the shots. She believes that these shots are dangerous and has claimed there is a conspiracy to cause an epidemic because of political reasons. Not sure what to make of this story.
