Screaming constituents, protesters dragged out by the cops, congressmen fearful for their safety — welcome to the new town-hall-style meeting, the once-staid forum that is rapidly turning into a house of horrors for members of Congress.
On the eve of the August recess, members are reporting meetings that have gone terribly awry, marked by angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior. In at least one case, a congressman has stopped holding town hall events because the situation has spiraled so far out of control.
“I had felt they would be pointless,” Rep. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.) told POLITICO, referring to his recent decision to temporarily suspend the events in his Long Island district. “There is no point in meeting with my constituents and [to] listen to them and have them listen to you if what is basically an unruly mob prevents you from having an intelligent conversation.”

So they are going to cancel all town meetings during the August recess and blame it on the “out-of-control” TEA partiers. If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the Congress. Every Congressman who refuses to come out of his bunker should be voted out in ‘10.

I had a feeling the Left would not like Leftist tactics. As more of us read up on Alinsky things will get even weirder for them. I like Alinsky’s thoughts on the effectiveness of ridicule, given that a leftist tends to be thin-skinned and rather humorless.

Remember—Teapartiers are voters. Back when they wanted to protest the Iraq war, no outrage was considered off the table for them. They’d do whatever they wanted, and it was “free speech” and “grass roots” (although the signs were suspiciously mass-produced). Now that conservatives want to protest something truly catastrophic for our country, they just want to shut down the meetings and retreat to their bunkers. Cowards, tratiors and liars, every one of them.
The masses are getting it cranked up. Judgement day is coming.
I wonder if the congressmen that actually represent the people in their districts that work hard and play by the rules have the same problem?
The last time I saw Congressman Cliff Stearns (R-FL), he was met by mobs of CHEERING supporters. Of course, he votes against things like socialized medicine, Cap and Trade, gun control, etc.

If your congresscreep won’t hold a town meeting, storm his or her local office.
The voters are p*ssed and congress needs to know it, up front and personal.
Ok “Congresspukes” remember Watts 1965, THAT could be your(our) regional offices. Town Halls are a relief valve. W/out them there WILL be violence. YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CANNOT HIDE 4-ever!

This would not be happening if Obama and the democrats had not shut out half of the electorate out of the ‘debate’. They have been ramming this far left marxist agenda through while not allowing ammendments or input from our representatives. This is not a republic anymore...IT’S FASCISM AND TYRRANY!
