New Photos Released From Flyover Blunder : The Pentagon also released the flight manifest

Responding to dozens of requests from the public, the Defense Department has released 146 more photos from the infamous Air Force One flyover that struck fear in thousands of unsuspecting New Yorkers in April.

The photos are posted right on the Pentagon's Website, defense officials said today. The Pentagon also released a heavily redacted flight manifest.

The April 27 photo-op caused quite a fright in Lower Manhattan and New Jersey, as many people who had lived through the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks thought the city was again under siege. Workers poured out of office buildings as the planes buzzed the city near the Financial District.

Local officials in New York and New Jersey had not been informed of the photo-op, which cost some $328,000, and the lack of communication and needless worry caused by the incident led to the resignation of Louis Caldera, the Obama official behind the stunt

Looks like it may have been the photo shoot it was originally reported as.

I don't believe that for one second.

I’ve been a commercial photographer, and I can say with certainty that such expense would not be wasted to photograph AF1 with Jersey industrial wastelands as a scenic backdrop, nor would AF1 be overshadowed by a military escort jet, nor would the few frames with the Statue Of Liberty have that significant symbol and landmark so shrinkingly small, from overhead, in the photo. There’s not even a decent shot of the Manhattan skyline, for crying out loud.

So the timing got moved up a few days because the D model had to be returned to Alabama ! Think it was Alabama.

But the big question I still have is on March 7 the ANG 121 FS/CC told his major USAF ANG 121s FS/DOF

that this was a high visibility project and a top priority of BFG Johnson.

So who is BFG Johnson?

What is a BFG?

Why is it a ‘top priority’?

Who is it a ‘high visibility project’ for?

Most of the emails released point to the project being pushed by Scott - with the PAG.

This email is the first clue I found to who may have really been pushing the project.

Yep, but the only decent link to the White House shown is the guy (Caldara(sp?) that got fired.

They mention Gibbs and one other person once... but the email pretty much dismisses telling them much of anything.

Hmmm.

BFG Johnson... Who is he?

So how do we get the date and time stamp out of the pictures that they gave us in the pfd?

Adobe Acrobat software, used to generate PDF documents, uses digital signatures that are based on public key infrastructure (PKI) technologies to establish authenticity in PDF documents. This is a means of determining the provenance of PDF documents themselves.

If you are using Linux, you should be able to use the "pdfimages" program to extract the images, and then use "exiftool" to extract time and date information.

When I do so, I get 146 images; the first has an EXIF timestamp of "2009:04:27 09:24:56", and the last has "2009:04:27 10:14:11".

In a military context, the only meaning I can gather for “BFG” is British. “British Forces Germany,” the post-Cold War successor to WWII forces.

There are other possibilities, beyond the possible military connotation.

You could construe this in a slang context, sort of like Lewinsky’s “The Big He.”

Or, you could tighten up your tinfoil and Google the individual known as B. F. G. Johnson.

So their flight path is most similar to the flight path of UA175 which hit the South Tower at 9:03 am.

This route appears to be a bit more east of that. But once they get to the Statute of Liberty, it has to be very close.

They are very close to the ‘ground zero’ impacts. Flying by just to the west.

You don't find it in the least intriguing, that an individual on AF1 was being referred to as "BFG Johnson," when a slang interpretation would have that mean "big effin' giant johnson?" Now, who might that be, lol? Especially on AF1? Are there code names in use outside of the Secret Service?

HEY. That bird is loaded with weapons !!!

The F16 DC438 in the first photo.

Got two missiles - air to air on the outside wings.

On right inside - got a bomb shaped looking device. Or is that aux fuel?

Perhaps. Perhaps not. The manifest only listed about a dozen military personnel aboard.
