Just so long as it doesn’t involve him taking teen aged boys out overnight camping, he can spout whatever he wants.

Too bad Souter wasn’t educated on the concept of private property rights.

CIVICS was an eighth grade requirement in school back in 'da ol days'. Every reason to properly teach it now and then some.

This is like David Duke preaching the need for healthy race relations.

Start with un-doing the early childhood and public education “reform” that the Annenburg gang, Billy-the-Bomber, and Barry imposed in Chicago.

This, from the man who interprets eminent domain as meaning one's private property can be sold to another private interest as long as the "public use" (which benefit would accrue from the higher tax base) would benefit the community???

If that's the case, then any man's home in this country can be razed in favor of constructing a multistory condo, all residents under the tax laws, all paying property taxes higher than the single family home can.

In other words, no man is safe.

Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato

Souter (and the four robed tyrants who joined him...) raped the Constitution with this sophistry.

If Souter only meant Education and not Indoctrination. It probably would have helped his decisions if studied Constitutional Law for more than that one class in college.

You are right. It used to be in Michigan, in order to graduate from High School, you had to have enough credits, and take a class in Civics, how the government operates. Now the schools are more interested in making worker bees, than citizens.

He can spout off all he wants; but he knows as well as we do the law is perverted and twisted to suit the power of the world. He, of all people; should know how that works given his known feelings on PRIVATE PROPERTY.

Perhaps the justice should go back and study the law and the CONSTITUTION.

We know how government works.

People with lots of money use empty suits as sock puppets.

Voters are given the lousy choice of loose their liberty right away or loose their liberty gradually.

Meanwhile each new law makes the money guys richer or more powerful or both.

The problem in the Kelo Case, was not the Supreme Court. It was the idiotic voters in New London who elected a local government to carry out their will. Until these morons are held accountable, nothing will change. The Supreme Court ruled that the States have to act to stop the takeover, that it was not the Feds taking over the property. The problem in Kelo is out of control local governments, empowered by moronic voters. The lesson here is local governments have a more direct impact on ones liberty, than any other level of government. The voters in New London are absolutely the pits, and responsible for the mess.
