Saudi Arabia Throws Cold Water On Obama Peace Plan

Saudi Arabia has thoroughly rejected appeals by U.S. President Barack Obama that the Arab world make modest gestures to Israel to show it is interested in advancing a regional peace that would include the establishment of a Palestinian Authority state within Israel’s current borders.

"The question is not what the Arab world will offer," Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal said at a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday. "The question really is: What will Israel give in exchange for this comprehensive offer?"

The Saudi rebuff, which also ignored an appeal by more than 200 members of Congress for “gestures” towards Israel, leaves President Obama with little room for maneuvering after his two-month-old demand that Israel freeze all building for Jews in eastern Jerusalem as well as in Judea and Samaria fell on deaf ears in Israel. American media and the Jewish community increasingly have criticized President Obama for going too far in trying to pressure Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East and a close ally of the United States.

Ha, Obama hitting roadblocks from the people he bowed to. And he's already snubbed Israel into oblivion. Who's he going to blame? ...oh yeah more Israel bashing...

Proof in itself that this "man" is totally out of touch with reality and out of his league at that. No competent adult human would expect "gestures to Israel" from any of these sand devils.

Obamessiah Is A Fool
He is much better at giving speeches than leadership. In 6 months he has done little to quiet those of us who knew all along that he is a radical ideologue with ZERO experience & NO accomplishments other than getting elected (with the help of an infatuated US media). His Ivory (Ebony?) Tower is fast crumbling as his diplomatic missteps are becoming more painfully embarrassing than his teleprompter gaffes. To be dissed by the Saudis after cow-towing so shamelessly to the arab world for 6 months shows how detached from reality he really is. He has zero chance of achieving anything substantive in the Middle East with his bloated ego & clueless lemmings he calls advisors!

Why oh why do we insist on playing this game. The Arab states do not want peace and never have. The Arab states are responsible for the mess in the middle east. They continue to preach hate and intolerance, destruction and death and have indoctrinated multiple generations of their people to such a level that peace will never be possible. And then they have the nerve to expect Israel to make concessions to the point of committing national suicide.

Bibi has it right. Let the Arabs show the world that they want peace ( the key word is “show” ) by recognizing Israel as a Jewish state and recognizing that the state of Israel has a right to secure and recognized borders as negotiated between affected parties as outlined in U.N. resolution 242, the cornerstone of all other agreements. They must stop inciting hatred and intolerance in all of their institutions, religious, civil and educational. Until that happens Israel shouldn't give an inch. Every time Israel has made concessions they've paid a huge price and have gained nothing but more violence. The time should be over for ANY Israel concessions. Arabs can put up or shut up.

What a blundering idiot our commander in chief must be in regards to middle east foreign policy. He's making things worse, not better and is once again throwing an ally under the bus while attempting to enhance his own image as statesman extraordinaire. Laughable!!!!!
