A new book by Newsmax Chief Washington Correspondent Ronald Kessler features startling revelations about current and former U.S. presidents, including Barack Obama.
"In the President's Secret Service: Behind the Scenes With Agents in the Line of Fire and the Presidents They Protect," released Tuesday, August 4, discloses that threats against the president have increased dramatically – by a staggering 400 percent since Obama entered the White House.
Kessler is the first journalist to penetrate the wall of secrecy that surrounds the U.S. Secret Service, and his book is based on interviews with more than 100 current and former agents.

Honestly, aside from those who are truly insane, who the heck would threaten the president of the US?
Does this include non-citizens and people in other countries? I find it very hard to believe that any more than a few nut cases would actually make a threat.
Are these threats, as determined by the Secret Service, or are these “threats” the Secret Service are told to investigate?

Probably the same curve for any president. From one threat a month to, say, 4 or so.
Out of curiosity (and excluding the “film” Hollyweird made), how many death threats were there against George W Bush? and Bill Clinton?

However, let it be known ... It will be a LONG time until an other member of his "demographic" is trusted with such high office. I for one will NEVER EVER give the benefit of the doubt to a member of the group that voted 98% for FUBO as I used too. I suspect there are a LOT of Americans that feel as I do about that

I take this with a grain of salt. By “threats” they are probably referring to kooky letter writers and keyboard commandos that have neither the intention nor the skill to do anything except holler.
There are many more ways to make threats these days than there used to be, I suppose, which may account for some of the reported increase. Twitter, FaceBook, texting, etc.
And there are a lot of idiots out there, unfortunately.
I seriously doubt that. They are only looking for a “RiechStag fire” incident to go after those that oppose obama.
I'm thinking there are a lot in the second category. While I'm sure legitimate threats against obama are probably running higher than any other President in recent history, I'd bet a lot of that is obama administration officials having the SS chase ghosts. Heck, DHS wants to characterize us all as potential "right wing extremists."

You're right there. Love him or hate him, obama is the President, and as President is (gulp) one of the symbols of our Country.
Is there a correlation between threats and attempts? If so, the concern is understandable.
Mathematically then, as the number of threats increase the likelihood of a threat being carried out approaches 1.
