Who Will Probe The U.N.-Vatican Connection?
Accuracy In Media ^ | AUGUST 4, 2009 | CLIFF KINCAID

The Boston Globe won a 2003 Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the Catholic Church's decades-long cover-up of priests who sexually abused children. There is a Pulitzer Prize waiting for the reporter who can figure out why the leader of the worldwide Catholic Church, considered by Catholics the personal representative of Jesus Christ, has become an advocate for one of the most corrupt organizations on the face of the earth-the United Nations.

The U.N. has been rocked by scandals involving U.N. "peace-keepers" who sexually abuse women and children, the failure to protect populations in danger of genocide, and financial corruption. It is an anti-American institution founded by a Soviet spy that is currently headed by a Communist Catholic Priest, U.N. General Assembly President Miguel D'Escoto, who recently gave a speech at a U.N. financial conference on the need to protect "Mother Earth."

So when the leader of 1.2 billion Catholics endorsed a "World Political Authority" in his encyclical "Caritas in Veritate," it was big news that could only be understood in the context of the growing power and influence of the U.N. The timing was also significant. The Papal statement was issued just before a meeting of the G-8 nations, including Russia, China and the U.S., and before Pope Benedict XVI's meeting with President Barack Obama.

Ok...this article seems to be designed to be anti-Catholic and is trying to involve the church in worldly political squabbles.

The one holy church is above the political schemes and machinations of this world because we are the on Earth representation of God’s kingdom in heaven.

Miguel D’Escoto is no “leader” of 1.2 billion catholics. Nor is he leader of the church. The Pope is.

The ‘leader’ of every catholic is Jesus Christ and his gospel.

Yes, indeed, it was clear that the words "world political authority" would set the bees abuzz.

The ugly truth is this: instantaneous global communication has made the world a great, big .... well, community, and hopefully the common root of the words will offer a clue as to why.

Communities will always seek to be ordered and governed -- it's as natural as a bee's buzzing.

Given these two immutable realities, then, the question of a "world politcal body" is logically on par with the question of carrying an umbrella when one goes out into the street hearing thunder.

So then, the alternatives are these: decry and deny the facts, refusing to participate; see the facts and attempt to exploit them; see the facts and attempt to infect the world with the vision of the Founders -- just and limited government.

The Pope, I believe, takes his mandate to "go and make disciples of the nations" seriously. Insofar as the Church speaks on issues of government, it is always to argue the moral imperative for just government.

No government is not an option -- you may wish to reread Lord of The Flies for a refresher on why.

Editorial: Pope's New Encyclical Speaks Against, not for One-World Government and New World Order

I had a lot of problems with Pope Benedict's encyclical, as did many traditional/orthodox/conservative Catholics. Mostly because of its lack of clarity and ambiguity.

That said, this article is a shrill, vacuous screed.

Exactly. This is just another catholic bashing attempt, it suggests the Muslim and German peacekeepers accused of raping women and abusing goats during peacekeeping missions are somehow endorsed by the Catholic church, and that the pope is endorsing everything the UN does.

The catholic chursh also didn't cover up pedophile priests who molested children. The were caught, and when the church learned what they were doing, they were moved away from children.

These church bashers don't seem to understand that the Church operates as closely to how Jesus Christ would as possible, which includes forgiveness of sin.

That they would offer confession and repentance of sin to someone like that just doesn't register with the church bashers.

And some of them claim to be "Christians" themselves. Also Amazing is how come these Catholic church bashers turn a completely blind eye to the Un infestation of Islam in the UN in vertually every single department.

Although I do have to admit it is a poorly written article so I can see your confusion, you might want to read the article again. When they reference that "the leader of 1.2 billion Catholics endorsed a World Political Authority", they are talking about a Papal statement that was actually issued by the Pope (you have to read the whole article to get the point, that is why I said it was poorly written), whom Catholics believe to be their "leader", they were not referencing D’Escoto in that statement.

Per the article:

In fact, the Pope stated that the goals of this World Political Authority should be "To manage the global economy; to revive economies hit by the crisis; to avoid any deterioration of the present crisis and the greater imbalances that would result; to bring about integral and timely disarmament, food security and peace; to guarantee the protection of the environment and to regulate migration..." This is a fairly detailed blueprint that sounds precisely like some of the functions of the U.N.

The Pope went on, "In the face of the unrelenting growth of global interdependence, there is a strongly felt need, even in the midst of a global recession, for a reform of the United Nations Organization, and likewise of economic institutions and international finance, so that the concept of the family of nations can acquire real teeth."

If the Pope had endorsed just a "World Authority," some Christians might have considered it a reference to the return of Christ to earth. But the use of the term "political" puts the Pope squarely on the side of those promoting a world government of some kind.

Ok...this article seems to be designed to be anti-Catholic and is trying to involve the church in worldly political squabbles.

That just shows you did not bother to read the article, the Pope himself is advocating reform of the UN and he seems to be advocating them as a "World Political Authority" based on the content of his Papal statements, so he is apparently involving the Church in "worldly political squabbles", as you call them.

The one holy church is above the political schemes and machinations of this world because we are the on Earth representation of God’s kingdom in heaven.

Whatever...I just can never seem figure out whether statements like that come from pride or arrogance. And for the record, I am not a Catholic basher...to each his own, that is what freedom of religion is about. I choose a personal relationship with God...no middle man required ; )

I'm not going top bash the R.C Establishment, they will be judged by higher powers when the time comes, and there'll be no more covering up for things some people may have done in the name of their faith.

The one holy church is above the political schemes and machinations of this world

What troubles me deeply is the Pope's obvious invasion into Politics, and even worse, wading into a Political World driven entirely by commerce, often regardless of Public Opinion or wellbeing.
The combination of that, together with NWO apparatchiks like Tony Blair announcing his devotion to Catholicism after his Political career took him deep into the race for the position of unelected EU President, says to me that the Catholic establishment is completely devoted to becoming a central entity within the European Union Political process, and consequently, any subsequent World Government.

The Tower of Babel.

The EU Parliament in Strasbourg.

The symbolic rebuilding of Babylon by the Vatican powered NWO, in Central Europe? You decide, God will judge.

Did you bother to actually read Caritas in veritate or are you just regurgitating what the dominant liberal mass media and those clowns at Accuracy(sic) In Media told you it said?

They included direct quotes from the Pope that made the case. If you can provide information to prove the Pope never made those statements, then it is up to you to do so if you want to make your case. Simply killing the messenger is a liberal tactic and never solves anything.
