Probably.

Obama was born in Hawaii because his mother said so. Just like John Kerry received his Purple Hearts because John Kerry said he deserved them.

Far more interesting to me are Obama’s college records. If he claimed to be a foreign student, he may well have committed a crime. He may be sconstitutionally eligible to be president, but he will be severely damaged.

(Then again, Clinton committed felonies while in office, and was deemed a victim.)

I have seen this, and would not be surprised if this were the case, but I have trouble believing anything like this if no name is attached.

If this is true, then I want the host's name to be made public. Either to clear his name, or so I can avoid listening to this coward ever again.

If someone sat on the story for his own personal gain, he should be thoroughly discredited.

The longer no name is attached to this, the more skeptical I will become.

Remember, there were reports that President Bush said the Constitution is “just a d*mned piece of paper” too - but no congressman attending the meeting ever stepped forward and said he was the source for the story.

I'm just trying, as best I can, to apply the same rules to different pieces of evidence. That's all I want out of law, and politics - to have everyone apply the same standards in similar situations.

And that's exactly what political people can never, ever afford to do. I might as well wish for a trip to the moon.

(sigh)

All she did, which is being lost sight of here, I’m afraid, is submit the alleged Kenyan BC to the court for authentication. She has defended it’s authenticity to the media, it appears, but I didn’t read anything in her filing to suggest that she thought it was the real deal.

That what I'm thinking right now. I believe he was born in Hawaii but there's something nefarious that would be discovered by him showing the real birth certificate. It must be good for him to go through this much effort to hide it.

Now if we can only get Bill Clinton's medical records while in office. Must be something there also.

Fair enough. I would expect that, and I believe she would be legally required to, do some minimal verification before either filing with the court or otherwise making it public.

As an extreme example, I would assume she would have faced sanctions if she had filed one of those “crayon” birth certificates posted faceticiously in the internet with the court.

Yes, what she has is a long way from that. And she is doing enough brave work without second-guessing from an ignorant layman like me.

But I'm just saying what I would have done. Again, there's no indication she didn't do this herself.

Nope - Clinton, Kerry and Obama sealed their records tight as a drum.

I think it's either that Obama was born with another name - and there were probably questions on his Illinois bar admission asking whether he ever went by another name - or another person listed as Obama’s father. Or maybe no father.

In any event, chances are it would not lead to immediate removal from office, but be a blow to his image.

It would be spun as evil conservatives and racists victimizing Obama even if it were proved he were born on Mars.

What crime are you thinking he would have committed had he registered as a foreign student? Thanks.

It’s possible such statements (in a college application) were made under penalties of perjury. I don’t know.

At the very least, he would be subject to some action by the school, even after graduation - being stripped of the degree is perhaps possible.

And the Illinois state bar could take action.

Then again, the chances of that happening are less than the chances of Miss America becoming my girlfriend.

But imagine if, say, a conservative Republican were found to have done this, and imagine what an Ivy League school and a state bar in a very blue state would do.

But if he had dual citizenship (Indonesian and American after age 18, possibly triple citizenship(!) beforehand), would the school have minded?

Maybe not. Maybe the state bar and the American public don’t mind either.

Then there’s no reason to keep things secret, especially for someone whose selling points included his “compelling biography.”

Again, I can’t claim to know the answer. I’m just raising issues and asking questions - ones that I am sure would be asked by the opposition and the media if, say, Sarah Palin made a statement on her college application that was arguably untrue, or which conflicted directly with a legally significant fact regarding her biography.

I agree with you, there’s lots there and he likely did fib on his bar application re: his name as well. I was just trying to understand if you saw something illegal in his registering as a foreigner at Occidental, as I’m not sure whether there would be. But Barry’s hiding a lot and it’s time to get it unsealed.

I’m no lawyer either. I just admire her grit, even if she comes a bit unhinged at times.

I listened to Glenn Beck on yesterday's program mock and ridicule those asking for Obama's birth certificate. He said that all of these requests and court cases only serve to strengthen Obama. Who in God's name is he kidding??? He lost all credibility with that pathetic rant of his.

He is the same guy who says that everyone whould get a copy of the Constitution and read and study it, but as it relates to the natural born requirement, he wants us to ignore it. Who is he kidding???

Then he goes on to say that every one of his listeners should find that issue with the Obama administration that they are passionate about and pursue it with all their hearts -- be it TARP, the stimulus, healthcare, spending,..... But birthers in his mind shouldn't pursue their passion. What a hypocrite.

Well, Glenn Beck, let me tell you something. The natural born issue supercedes any of the others, because if he is not a natural born citizen then the legality and credibility of his administration and his entire Marxist agenda collapses overnight --- and with that the careers of a lot of others including talk show hosts who ignored it.

Good points. I admire a lot of things about Beck, but this is not one of them.

I think people are shouting too much and taking sides too quickly. It's not either that Obama is as pure as the wind-driven snow or he's a Soviet-era plant from Kenya. Sometimes the debate seems that way.

I would say that there are questions about his background that could be answered by the release of easy to find and commonly-released documents, the birth certificate, school records and bar records being examples.

I simply want to know why they aren't being released, and for Obama to release them.

Period.

I have no doubt whatsoever that even if Obama were proved to have been born on Mars John McCain and Lindsey Graham, and a few other RINOs, would fall all over themselves to be the first to say it does not matter.

But I don't expect the “inside the Beltway” mentality from talk-show hosts too.

I guess I should - there's money to be made by not rocking the boat TOO MUCH.

But I would gag if Beck ever spoke about pledging “our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor” ever again.

Tell that to Mr. Bomford , unless he is fake too.

It doesn't take photoshop(or rocket science) to examine the image of the Aussie BC to see that all the lettering is not distorted where they overly any of the creases in the 'document'. Some of those creases are substantial, yet the lettering keeps right on going. Mr. Bomford may or may not be a fake - but his posted BC is.

Mr. Bomford may or may not be a fake - but his posted BC is.

The Mr. Bomford quoted by the Australian reporter saw the image, and states that it is his BC.

DAVID JEFFREY BOMFORD: It's little old me and my mum and everything else up there. Oh I definitely confirm that the birth certificate was mine. That was quite easy to see - my address, even the style of the birth certificate was an old South Australian one.

So it's quite easy to identify that it's mine.

There are two possibilites:

(1) This is Mr. Bomford who is telling the truth, that the South Australian BC is his and is genuine. If his BC is genuine, the Obama Kenya BC is fake.

(2)There has been an elaborate ruse with an actor impersonating Mr. Bomford, or a genuine Mr. Bomford who is lying. This all done to discredit the Obama Kenya BC.

Do you really think the person of Mr. Bomford is involved in a conspiracy? Then, cue the Twilight Zone theme music, as it is getting pretty far-fetched.

You know, the MSM is fond of calling birthers kooky conspiracy theorists. It would be better for us to not fit their description.

His claim still doesn’t answer the phyical reality - letters should be distorted at the creases. The lettering continues as if those creases are not there. That is a tell-tale that the two do not belong to each other. It is a physical impossibility for it not to be distorted. Occams razor please.

Twilight zone - you failed to examine other options. One interview I saw had this guy saying he supports 0bama. Being an internet linked world what is to say that he, on his own, put this together? Not everything out there is conspiracy, nor has to be. Anyone check to see if he occasions places like DU?

The conservative movement—or the goal of portraying the conservative movement in a particular light—is not a direct focus here. We must focus on the thing itself. In this case, the eligibility issue.

That is, Dr. Taitz is not trying to make a statement about conservatism or add something to the conservative movement. She is trying to expose the Obama fraud.

I view criticism of Taitz, when presented in this context and without concrete support, ultimately as a stain on the intellect of the critic.
