BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. -- Several people were reported shot at the LA Fitness gym in Bridgeville, emergency officials confirmed for WTAE Channel 4 Action News.
The reports came in shortly after 8:15 p.m. that authorities were called to the gym at the Great Southern Shopping Center at 1155 Washington Pike. Emergency officials said as many as 15 people may have been involved, but their conditions were not immediately known.
Witnesses told WTAE Channel 4 Action News that the victims shot in the gym were in a class in the aerobics center at the time of the shooting.
Former WTAE Channel 4 Action News photographer Gary O'Data said at 9:10 p.m. that the entire shopping center was shut down. He reported seeing as many as 15 ambulances and at least 20 police cars.
Clerks at neighboring stores told WTAE Channel 4 Action News that they locked their doors as a precaution.

All the victims are women:
At least two people were killed and several others wounded tonight when a gunman walked into a fitness center in the Great Southern Shopping Center in Collier and opened fire.
An Allegheny County policeman said he believes one of the dead was the gunman. Witnesses said they saw two to four wounded women lying outside the back door and two others lying in a parking lot at the side of the LA Fitness center along Washington Pike.
Witnesses said a gunman wearing a black hat walked into an aerobics room filled with women shortly after 8 p.m., turned out the lights and opened fire.
Witnesses reported hearing dozens of gunshots before the shooting stopped.
Police and paramedics from a number of South Hills communities rushed to the scene.

Bridgeville is considered a fairly nice middle to upper middle class suburb of Pittsburgh. Not exactly the Beverly Hills equivalent to the Los Angeles area, but maybe like Arcadia or Pasadena.
KDKA reports that Allegheny County Police confirmed the four dead at an L.A. Fitness Center on Tuesday.
There’s way too much of this awful nonsense going on, and it needs to stop. Maybe we should spend more time and effort on mental health.

It’s far too early to read much into this, so I’ll offer my prayers.
WPXI is outside UPMC Mercy, a number of family members have gathered there. Four victims plus the perp confirmed dead; five total.
Five critical at UPMC Mercy Trauma; four others at Allegheny General Trauma and ‘several’ at St. Clair Hospital ER (one DOA).
Collier Twp. PD will have a news conference soon.

Local News on scene. 4 Dead and 11 injured. Sixteen shots were fired. Unknown man came in screaming and turned out the lights to the aerobics room and began shooting. He reloaded and continued. Women were trapped and unable to escape. Local news claims gunmen turned weapon on self and was listed as one of the dead. Four were sent to local hospital (most like to stabilize them before transporting to primary trauma center) and two were sent to Allegheny Hospital level one trauma center. No reports on the others.
Witness on KDKA says one wounded woman said it was her ex-boyfriend.
Still watching WPXI, per Rennee Kominski, it was a ‘Latin Impact’ class. Usually about 30 attendees; Tamyka Artist just updated now 6 fatalities. No confirmation on whether or not there is a child care room at the LA Fitness location.
