MOSCOW A top Russian general says two nuclear-powered Russian attack submarines that have been spotted off the U.S. East Coast are part of regular patrols.
Anatoly Nogovitsyn, the deputy chief of staff of Russia's armed forces, says the patrols are not newsworthy.

They were nostalgic for the days of Communism, so they wanted to see the US to remember what it was like.
I never saw that movie, but I suspect it was some Hollywood leftist’s attempt at minimizing and mocking the Russian threat.
Indeed...that’s what it was.
Don’t be silly.
We have patrolled the waters off the USSR, er, Russia since the Cold War, and we probably didn’t stop just ‘cause the Sov, er, Russkis had a temporary hiccup. We’re probably still patrolling over there, why shouldn’t they reciprocate?
Besides, outside the 13 mile limit (or is it the economic exclusion zone?), the seas are free to all, right?
