Birth certificate is a distraction...his “father” was not a citizen and his mother was not old enough to bestow citizenship. Beyond that disqualifier, he’s an illegal alien since he was never naturalized.

While FR was down, someone on the yahoo group back-up site posted that he/she got a mysterious e-mail (in their personal account) from a “Concerned Liberal” saying that he reported the FR poster to the FBI, CIA, etc., and that FR was a bunch of lunatics, etc.

Questions on health care for your townhall for today
There are plenty of copies of H.R. 3200 now for Congress to read. If you are going to a townhall with your Congressperson or Senator (which means you don’t live in MN-7, since Rep. Peterson has decided he doesn’t want to meet with you), you should read and bring specific questions about this bill. I intend to offer one a day.

Today’s comes from Secs. 141 and 142. In these sections we read:

There is hereby established, as an independent agency in the executive branch of the Government, a Health Choices Administration (in this division referred to as the ‘Administration’).

The Administration shall be headed by a Health Choices Commissioner (in this division referred to as the ‘Commissioner’) who shall be appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.

(1) QUALIFIED PLAN STANDARDS- The establishment of qualified health benefits plan standards under this title, including the enforcement of such standards in coordination with State insurance regulators and the Secretaries of Labor and the Treasury.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink

(2) HEALTH INSURANCE EXCHANGE- The establishment and operation of a Health Insurance Exchange under subtitle A of title II.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink

(3) INDIVIDUAL AFFORDABILITY CREDITS- The administration of individual affordability credits under subtitle C of title II, including determination of eligibility for such credits.CommentsClose CommentsPermalink

(4) ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS- Such additional functions as may be specified in this division.
Questions for your congressperson or senator:

Will this commissioner have the power to terminate one’s insurance plan and place one in a government plan if he or she decides the private plan does not qualify? Dr. Bernadette Healy says yes.

She also says that assignment is “random”. Indeed it is; see Sec. 205. Does your Congressperson support random assignment of people to plans that the Health Choices Commissioner says do qualify?

What will be the relationship between the Health Choices Commissioner and the IRS as regards the enforcement of the 2.5% tax on individuals who do not have coverage, as defined in Sec. 401?

Will the Commissioner hire his or her own staff to administer “random compliance audits”?

If I disagree with the determination of the Commissioner, to whom may I appeal? What are the checks and balances on the Commissioner’s power?

We heard recently of a massive Medicare fraud case that lead to many arrests. How would this new Health Choices Administration assure us that fraud would not explode in these government exchanges?

If you go to these townhalls, take these questions on index cards and distribute to your neighbors and friends. I’ll bring more as I get them.

I've got one question for Congress: If your bleedin' healthcare plan ain't good enough for you, why in Hades should we consider it good enough for us?!

these were the questions i sent to http://www.operationembarrassyourcongressman.com/

You claim that a large part of the funding for your bill can come from Medicare and Medicaid savings. If these savings are possible, why haven’t you introduced a bill to recover those savings before now?

Why should I have confidence that you can run such a large government program when you have allowed abuse in Medicare and Medicaid? What steps have you taken to curb that abuse?

Based on the abysmal track record of Medicare and Medicaid, why should I trust you with something as important as my healthcare?

You promised that your stimulus bill would keep unemployment to 8%. You were wrong. You thought one billion would fund “cash for clunkers” for several months. You were wrong. Implementing your healthcare reform will make irreversible changes to our healthcare system. Why should I have confidence that you are not wrong again?

Since your “government option” is designed to compete with private healthcare plans, what assurance do I have that the competition will have a level playing field? What recourse will private companies have if you put regulations in place that bankrupt them?

Private insurance is required have reserves on hand. Will your “government option” have those same requirements? If so, what assurance do I have that congress will not “borrow” those funds like they did to the Social Security program?

How can a government program compete with private industry when government writes the rules of the competition? (regulates it)

When a private insurer fails, the business ceases to exist. If your government program does not have adequate funding, will it cease to exist or will taxpayers be forced to pay for your failure?

We have heard promises of “lockboxes” before. Will general funds be used to fund this program or will the program stand on its own?

Single payer healthcare systems produce zero medical advancements. Who will provide these advancements when our medical system removes the profit motive that drives them?

Democrats hold a majority in both houses as well as the white house. Yet you cannot get agreement on this bill even among democrats. What assurance do I have that provisions removed to get blue dog democrat votes will not be enacted after this bill is passed? (camel’s nose in the tent)

Will your healthcare plan be “on budget” or will you remove them from the budget to hide their cost? (like you did for Social Security)

It’s obvious that all these protesters at TownHall meetings are manufactured. Didn’t you see all the T shirts with identical logos? Or the professionally printed signs and banners. Or the guy with the bullhorn?

Make sure someone asks about the future of Health Savings Accounts. According to this bill, HSA’s, the only sure mechanism for a patient to have control over his or her healthcare, are history.

Healthcare opposition shut down at Town hall meeting in Worcester MA

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2308562/posts

This is a letter written by a lady from the Massachusetts 912 project; she attended the meeting and was told no cameras or questions.

To all concerned patriots. Michelle and I went to the so called “town hall” meeting today in Worcester. Congressman McGovern was joined by Richard Neal. It was standing room only. It was such an orchestrated dog and pony show it was ridiculous. We were outraged, as were many other people. As soon as they began, they announced that questions that had been submitted on index cards would be addressed at some point during the “discussion” That brought an outcry from those of us who wanted to ask some real questions. There were a few, particulary one very outspoken woman, who sat down front, who came right out and stated that she was all for the healthcare plan. Every time one of the many who are opposed tried to speak, she basically led the chant of “shut up” and sit down. At one point people were told that they would be removed from the proceedings if they continued to shout out questions. Then they agreed to take questions if we wrote them on index cards and handed them to people who were posted there to collect them. There was no opportunity to get up and speak. It was the most blatant example of the Obama lovers deliberately trying to silence any who dared to disagree. We were also told that we could not bring our cameras into the “meeting” One man had to take his all the way back to his car. This was not a meeting, it was an informercial and propaganda tour. People better wake up and start doing something to stop this, or we are all doomed. Neither McGovern or Neal truly answered questions from us, other than the usual evasive liberal rhetoric.

I remember when this Blue Dog thing got started, it was not because they were Dems from blue states, it was due to their being Yellow Dog Democrats who got choked, they found that painting and put it in their caucus office.

As far as I've been able to determine, there have been a scarce few who have actually lived up to the principles of conservatism as an ideology -- for the most part, I have seen it as the same con job done on voters that people such as Specter have pulled, a Dem who knew there was too much competition in that party, wanted a seat bad enough he switched party affiliation and told them what they wanted to hear to vote him into that office as a Republican, only to consistently vote contrary to party and constituent wishes. These Blue Dogs talk a good game, but way too many fold when it comes down to brass tacks.

For any of them who think to come back after recess and listen to the leadership instead of their constituents, I suggest they recall what happened in 1994 to Blue Dog Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, who in 1993 allowed her tie-breaking vote on Clinton's first budget to be bought with a lame promise from Billy Jeff against the express wishes of the folks back home.
