Nailed It!

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.)

I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention.

You are welcome to browse the list of truly exceptional articles I pinged to lately. Updated on July 24, 2009.  on  my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).

Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

I pray Sarah survives it all and comes out swinging.

Excellent, excellent article.

We conservatives need to take the gloves off and start fighting fire with fire.

Those people – those actual conservatives that went out and voted – don’t think Sarah Palin cost John McCain the election. They think John McCain cost Sarah Palin the election.

I be one of them. When I wrote my checks to the campaign, I averted my eyes from McCain and focused on the conservative on the ticket.

People need to see this video and face the issue that Bill Whittle presents at the end, and face it squarely.

"Every good movement in the history of the world has been led by an infinitesimal minority . . . the perfect example, Jesus of Nazareth. Edmund Burke wrote, 'How often has public calamity been arrested on the very brink of ruin by the seasonable energy of a single man?' Just a few -- ONE - is enough!'" - Dr. Leonard Read, Foundation for Economic Education

It has been said that "One man plus truth is an army."

That is why ideologues who wish to substitute government's coercive power (their own) for the inestimable "power of one" individual must attack and try to destroy that power.

After all, the meek and mild Spirit who came to bring peace on earth was subjected to ridicule by those who were far inferior accusers. So it is today. In over 2000 years, why believe that anything has changed in the makeup of likewise imperfect individuals who wish to impose their own wills on the rest of mankind?

America was founded on a different and unique idea--that individuals in the society hold the power through their own Constitution's provisions, and that those elected to positions of power in government are "bound down" (Jefferson).

To those who think that the "Destruction of Sarah Palin" has happened, I say...

A great essay... although I wish he had spelled Alinsky’s name correctly. That’s the English teacher in me.

He’s sure as hell right about fighting the left, though. Using the tactics of the left does not mean adopting the politics of the left. The left means to destroy our country and culture; it is literally a fight to the death. They started the war, not us. If that’s what they want, so be it. I don’t want it, and I’m not even well-suited for it, but when I look at my son I think about his future, and I’m willing to make the sacrifice.

“Meanwhile, the Harvard-educated elitist geniuses will run the country according to their infinitely brighter intellectual and moral lights. “

The people whose intellect is a mile wide, and an inch deep?

The Ivy League idiots who keep pushing socialism after it has failed all over the world, every time it has been tried?

Great article

I see Sarah being the victim of the liberal RINOs efforts to marginalize and insult the conservative base of the party (along with the anti-Southern and anti-Birther rhetoric).

I fear the bigger enemy are the liberals from within the GOP and the faux-cons, not as much the Dem. Liberal crowd. Real conservatives need to stay together so that Sarah and other real conservatives become the focal point of the party, again.

Finally, someone who understands what is really going on.

We hear from the MSM types who said Sarah’s resignation speech was rambling and incoherent, who said she can’t overcome the quitter image, who said she doesn’t understand the issues.
We hear from the McCain campaign people who said she lost the election.
We hear from the people who ridicule her and her family.

It is so refreshing to hear from someone who can accurately describe what is really going on.

Paraphrasing just a little bit her remarks at an event last month honoring Blue and Gold Star Families...

“I love America, I'm proud of my country and I will NEVER apologize to anybody for being an American”.

Go Sarah!.

A big Bill Whittle fan.

Great article, forcefully written! Won’t quibble over one or two grammatical blemishes.

But the very last sentence is a bit disappointing...if the author is referring to Sarah. Perhaps he didn’t clearly hear what she said when she announced her resignation as AK Gov.

“We’re not retreating. We’re advancing in a different direction.”

Gov. Sarah Palin, July 3, 2009
(as close to verbatim as I recall off the cuff.)

All that her enemies have done is to propel her sooner into the next phase of what appears to be her calling, and with more wind at her back, freedom and time. Their tactics have backfired into growing sympathy for her and, ironically, valuable publicity that the Republican elites probably hoped to deny her.

And precisely at a time when it’s increasingly clear that the country is in major trouble, the emperor has no clothes, and Americans are stirring, determined to find and empower leaders of unquestionable honesty, decency, integrity, courage and patriotism.

The sequence, type and timing of events is almost uncanny. I’m pumped.

Sarah and we are seeing which rocks the snakes are under and in which trees the foul birds are likely roosting...for future reference.

Saracuda !
Sarah America !!
