THE Democratic Party is pan icking, lashing out like a cornered animal, all because its effort to take over the health-care industry is coming apart like so much wet toilet paper.
Nancy Pelosi, who will get her own bound volume in the annals of asininity, has outdone herself. When asked by a reporter whether the protests at various town-hall meetings represented legitimate grassroots opposition or were manufactured "Astroturf" stunts, she replied, "I think they're Astroturf. You be the judge. They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care."
Now this is a pas de trois of dishonesty, slander and idiocy. Not only is Pelosi lying when she says protesters are bringing swastikas to these town halls, not only is she suggesting that American citizens are Nazis for having the effrontery to get in the way of ObamaCare, but she's also saying that the alleged swastikas are obvious proof that these protests are manufactured by slick PR gurus.
How does that work? What public-relations genius says: "OK, we need these protests to seem like an authentic backlash of real Americans. Make sure everyone has enough Nazi paraphernalia!"
Meanwhile, Sen. Barbara Boxer insists the protests have to be fake because the protestors are too "well-dressed." Likewise, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says this is all "manufactured anger" because the protestors -- he calls them the "Brooks Brothers Brigade" -- are too tastefully appointed to be authentic protestors. Apparently only filthy hippies can petition government.

We, being proud of our country and our nationality are foolish for not realizing that our country is the scourge of the Earth. They glibly apologize for being American to global delight.
Nancy and Barbara are turning into doddering old women before our eyes. Sad, but fitting.
IIRC, a single lone swastika was spotted on a protester’s sign, and it was overlaid with the red circle-slash emblem, symbolizing opposition to the Nazi-ish aspects of Obamacare.
If SanFranNan thinks the swastika represented the protesters’ own sentiments, she’s even stupider than we thought.
But for botox, they’d both look like shriveled prunes, or overly large raisins...
It’s time to take back the country.
It is not hypocrisy because the protesters on the right are Nazis and racists and the same rules do not apply to protesters on the left who are pure.
The references to "Brooks Brothers" is simply one more revelation of their disdain for the private sector.
On this issue, the lines have been clearly drawn. We are now witnessing the beginning salvos in an existential conflict between the private sector and the public sphere.
For years, with the economy humming along, the private sphere has remained inert, allowing the words "rich" and "profit" to become pejoratives, passively accepting the umbilical union of the words "evil" and "CEO". Our private sector institutions have sat idly and impassionately as employers, entrepreneurs and investors have been maligned and targeted as the enemy of the state. There's been seething anger, and it's coming to the fore now because people are now afraid-fear is the driving force behind the tea partiers, and fear has gotten them off their duffs and into the streets.

Simply idiotic. We used to live in a country where you could question public policy without being demonized by stupid politicians. Being against this health care bill does not make you a fascist, a racist, or unAmerican.
He’s wrong on this. Many of the Democrat Reps don’t give a rat’s rear end about what their constituents think - they are voting for this bill regardless.
They don’t CARE if it costs them their jobs...

The whole "Brooks Brothers Riot" comment is another left-wing paranoid fantasy. I tried to find video of it, but what I remember is that the "Republican Riot" was to stop the attempt by Florida Democrat election officials to take the vote counting behind closed doors. The "Rioters" (Republicans remember) were chanting "let the press in". Some riot, some chant, some nefarious plot.
But this shows that the Democrats never forget a previous lie. The repeat the lie, over and over and over through the years, so that they gradually change the public's view of the matter.
Case in point, Clarence Thomas: When he testified after Anita Hill's scurilous attack on him, 2/3's of Blacks believed and supported Clarence Thomas. After years of repeating the lies about him, now the liberals can get away with calling Justice Thomas "not a real black" without a peep from anyone.
If they thought there actually was a chance they’d be voted out they’d care...but too many of them are gerrymandered into safe districts and run unopposed, which gives them the idea that they’re some kind of royalty.
It would seem to be that way...yet Obama’s favorabilty +- on Rasmussen has been getting better for him all week.
Public reacting negatively to the town hells? Or buying the BS about an approving economy?
Of course—it’s rank hypocrisy. Nobody likes to get beat at their own game and so far, that’s what’s been happening.
How the public reacts to violent episodes at the town halls should prove critical. We need to keep the focus on the rotten Obamacare bill and not on the meetings themselves.
Golly, poor, poor Obama must be desperate (sniffle).
