Mexico does indeed encourage immigration. So do all sorts of other countries. That, Will, has always been true and for pretty much the same reasons, no work, excess population ad remittances. This Hispanic wave will change America, no doubt. I suppose, if nothing is going to be done to stop it and it appears the monied elites of both parties will see to that, we ought to be thank full that the Hispanics tend to work hard and are Christians. The alternative might well be more Somalis and other dog vomit Mohammedan types like Europe is embracing.

So do all sorts of other countries. Nothing on the scale of Mexico and a few other Latino nations, and the transportation cost of sending the excess people to the US is much, much cheaper from Mexico.

Be careful, the argument is geography-specific.

The illegals also have an illegitimacy rate of 50%. That does not correlate with genuine Christianity. And, an unusually high percentage of illegals are involved with extremely violent gangs. The high birth and high illegitimacy rate will increase the violence in America exponentially.

I see the push is on this morning to convince us that the ‘new immigrant’ is assimilating...right....that’s why everything has to be printed in Spanish!

QUESTION!!!

We are told by the open border lobby that hispanics work harder and are the BEST employees....so WHY is ‘hispanic’ unemployment higher than native unemployment???

And THEY want to let more of them in and make over 20 million of them legal to get more social welfare benefits! Yeah! That’ll help!

Nevada Hispanics hit hardest by unemployment

Nevada had the highest unemployment rate among Hispanics in the country in the second quarter of 2009 and it’s projected to be higher by 2010.

The Silver State Hispanic unemployment rate was 16.4 percent, with California next at 15.7 percent, according to a report released by the Washington, D.C.-based Economic Policy Institute.

Hispanics in Nevada were 1.7 times as likely to be unemployed as non-Hispanic whites, who had a 9.7 percent unemployment rate.

The overall Nevada unemployment rate was 11.3 percent in the quarter.

He said a large number of Hispanics who don’t graduate from high school or attend college is a primary factor.

“(The higher numbers for unemployment) has to do with lack of (high) educational graduation rates and a general lack of Latino leadership in most agencies,” Gutierrez said. “If that doesn’t change, it’s certainly going to get tougher.”

The main finding of the report, titled “Unequal Unemployment,” was that African-Americans and Hispanics had a higher percentage of unemployment than non-Hispanic whites.

Look at the left’s strongest voting blocks and when those blocks arrived here, it was after the 1840s.

Just as you can look at the vote since 1965 and see basically a battle in voting between the original core of America and people that you suspect will never vote as conservatively as that core, then start going backwards from 1965 and look at those immigrants from 1845 to 1920 and try to look at how those groups voted (and still vote)in elections, what issues that they pushed to the forefront, how they reshaped the national momentum and purpose, etc, in other words they replaced the gristly old American character with their European sensibilities and concepts.

Yes as I live in Nevada, I am fully versed in the tribes in the area...the Paiute, Pueblo, Shoshoni and the Ute.

Thanks!

It’s happening not just to the Hispanics but also to many Asian groups like the Hindus and Moslems as well. These groups are defined by their religious traits; language; entertainment; rituals; customs; and habits, all of which are at odds with the very foundations of western civilization built around Judeo-Christian traditions. As a result we now have defined enclaves of these ethnic groups in varoius geographical regions and cities of the United States.

This analysis is full of holes.

To start with, the European model of integration was first, a great wave from “the old country”, to which there was no going back. Then the wave ended. The first generation were “old country”, went for minimum wage jobs, spoke the old language and maintained the old culture.

Their children, the second generation, were the most problematic. Half in and half out, and not comfortable with either group. These were the ones that formed gangs and mafias.

But the third generation were assimilated. They spoke English as a primary tongue, and were fully integrated in society, understanding how things worked and playing by the rules. But with a twist. Those who lived in cultural “ghettos”, took far longer to assimilate, because they didn’t have to.

The Mexican immigrants fit this pattern to a ‘t’, if you take into account the obvious. First of all, there wasn’t a big wave of immigration, then nothing. It was and is a steady flow for decades. This conceals integration and the different generations.

We are right next door to Mexico, so some of these immigrants could maintain ties with “the old country” for a long time, before losing touch. But now you end up with legal citizens and illegals in the same family. There are no clear generations. All ages might be legal and integrated or illegal and like they were just up from Mexico.

One thing that remains the same is that if they live in a predominantly Mexican ethnic area in the US, it is harder, and takes longer, for them to integrate. But when they are on their own, they integrate very quickly.

Prosperity is also problematic. There are Mexican-Americans whose families have lived here for generations, but are still poor; at the same time as new arrivals who have made themselves prosperous and middle class.

And the final point: now that new illegal immigration is tapering off, it will be much easier for Mexicans living in the US to become Americans. Especially if they avoid other Mexicans.

BULLS**T!!!!!

You're absolutely correct.

To be honest, I've got a belly full of arrogant foreigners, legal and illegal. I know people that work in the service sector, retail etc, and many of these people are the most arrogant, demanding AHs you've ever seen..They come in dressed in the native clothes demanding discounts like they are owed something.

I kid you not, many of these Koreans and people from India come into these store, asking Korean or Indian discounts...No joke. "I buy two, you give me discount".

I've spoke with people that work in these establishments and they'll tell ya, many of these people are not only arrogant, but rude to the bone, and they'll go straight to the non-white help, and demand discounts, or just interrupt the sales people that are already helping others.

To be honest, I've ran into a lot of people from south of the border, that make it really obvious, they hate this country, and white people.

And many of these foreigners that go into business, they'll break every rule, regulation, law and business ethic ever written or established. The attitude is, "I do what I want" and the lying excuse when caught up in fraud or whatever is always, "I don't understand your ways".

This is a problem of Mexicans and a few other countries, not Hispanics in general. Cubans, Venezuelans, Costa Ricans, Argentinians, and Chileans, assimilate quite easily, whether they are European or mixed. Mexican culture does not value education as much as other immigrant groups, and Mexicans do not value American culture, as they are the only group from whom the US has taken territory, and old resentments simmer under the surface. They don't want to Americanize, which they then take as becoming successful. They want to do ok, but remain Mexican, not give in to the gringo.

Puerto Ricans also have assimilation problems, but for different reasons. But for the most part, being Hispanic is not the problem, being from particular countries is.

Europe started getting this in the early 80s. Basically, they despise liberalism.

They view the liberal culture with contempt - they have absolutely no respect for it.

They see how easy it is to game the system, how pathetic the liberal mindset is.

Good article.

1. Numbers. We have over 300 million people here already. Immigrants primarily go to areas that already have dense populations. We do not need and cannot support endless numbers of legal and illegal immigrants regardless of their educational levels or skills. Our social services net are already overloaded.

2. Standards. The relatively few immigrants we should let in should be highly educated and should have a high IQ. (Yes, give them an IQ test.) Top flight scientists and inventors readily come to mind. Endless numbers of tomato pickers whose children are disproportionately high school drop-outs we can do without.

Some find it hard to keep their rage ramped up. There are so many things this government does and doesn’t do that causes rage, from open borders, to health/death care, cap and trade, stimulus bills, TARP bailouts, cash for clunkers, grabbing guns, Coercion, intimidation, lying and arrogant elitism!

I know, I left some things out, but you get the picture...

They can be unique in being the first immigrants to be returned to sender too.

(Except the Asians. I like the Asians.)
