There is a device under development that is essentially a stun gun for cars. It backdoors a high energy magnetic pulse through the ground plane of the car and blows the ignition computer or the ignition system for carbureted cars.

How is such a narrow 'beam' formed such that a field of view only a few degrees wide (maybe 10 at the most) is formed so other vehicles are not affected?
On a side note, how do identify (so I make use of) this 'ground plane' in my car e.g. *reducing* EMI (noise) from the spark plugs firing (ignition noise)?
So far I can identify the engine, the frame, hood, inner fender wells, etc but no 'ground plane' ...
