Atheists expelled from Creation "Museum"
Examiner.com ^ | Aug 9th, 2009 | Michael Rosch

...according to Myers and at least one of my other sources that attended, aside from joking to each other about the ridiculous nonsense in the “museum”, no one misbehaved. But that didn’t seem to stop “museum” officials from harassing individuals and eventually kicking a few people out of the “museum” for imaginary infractions.

Essentially, it seems the “museum” feels that merely disagreeing with its “science” and mocking it to one’s friends is grounds for having visitors removed from the property. This is absurd. Could you imagine if the American Museum of Natural History ejected visitors for being creationists? Or if the Museum of Modern Art ejected visitors for critiquing the art or mocking Jackson Pollack’s work quietly with their friends? It would never happen. That’s because REAL museums are tools for education and don’t try to control how its visitors think.

ROFLOL, I think the catholics told the Indians of central and south America they had a choice, convert are die.

Here the Christians "did no other harm to the women found in [the enemy's] tents - save that they ran their lances through their bellies," according to Christian chronicler Fulcher of Chartres. [EC60]

Um...make that “rein it in”. That’s what I get for relying on the spellchecker.

Wow, only four hundred years ago.

Keep trying. BTW, the church in Spain had be reduced to an arm of the state.

Well, moral standards do change over time. Some behaviors that were perfectly acceptable centuries ago are now a crime, and vice versa.

The problem for God-haters is that the Scriptures, which were written by God, have been proven to be correct down to the letter

Ooh, a literalist. This should be fun. Still believe the Earth is flat? Oh, I know, it's all either taken out of context, didn't use the right Hebrew word, or it was just metaphor. I've heard it all.

The simple fact is that most of the OT was written before any society in the world started realizing the Earth may be a sphere. The inaccuracy shouldn't be a problem for anyone who takes the "inspired by God" approach.

And you're stretching it a bit on the Revelations thing. The money isn't the mark. The mark must be on you so you can engage in commerce.

You will never be forced to accept God

Well, at least not since Christians lost absolute power in government.

No it was the other way around, for years the head of the state had to be approved by the catholic church.

Some persist in these beliefs into adulthood.

Yes, as in our Founders who believed in God's Natural Law as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and put into practice in our Constitution.

I'm just pointing out that conversion at the point of a sword was a societal norm in the Western world centuries ago (and still is in some Muslim countries).

For that matter, reference the behavior of missionaries in the South Pacific as recently as the 19th century.

The Church was not supreme over the 16th century Spanish monarchy. Try again.

That aside from the Bible stating that God made animals and then people, all physical evidence shows that people and dinosaurs did not occupy the earth at the same time.

I think some people take Martin Luther's quote "Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed. Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding" somewhat too literally.

So what is your ultimate point? Is it that our 1st Amendment right to free exercise of religion doesn't exist, that there is an imaginary “wall of separation” between church and state?

No connection whatever between Founders’ beliefs and those advocated by “creationists” today.

I would like to ask one thing: That the focus of discussion shift from evolution and science, to the Bible-based reasoning behind creationism.

Evidently, you/they believe that the world was created a few short years ago, in a few short days.

What is the basis for that claim?

Oh, a God and Scripture denier. A dime a dozen. And if you have to include that "the earth is flat" verse was taken out of context, then you have some idea of the thin veneer of your denial of Scripture. In fact, in the Old Testament, God Himself states that the earth is a sphere:

He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. (Isaiah 40:22 (Old Testament)).

So, you're wrong. It turns out that the Old Testament is pretty up to date after all. It's generally a good idea to familiarize yourself with your subject matter before commenting on it.

And you're stretching it a bit on the Revelations thing.

Am I really? Did I post the verse? I never specified anything about the verse, only to state the fact that it was impossible for a first-century man to know that there would be a time when the technology would exist to number every person on earth unless a Being Who was all-knowing enabled that first-century man to know that. Now if you have a credible way to refute that, give it your best shot.

Well, at least not since Christians lost absolute power in government.

Christians never had power in the government. And, believe me, it's not Christians you need to be concerned about.

Odd...I don't recall saying anything that would lead to such a conclusion. Please refresh my memory, if you would be so kind.

that there is an imaginary “wall of separation” between church and state?

This isn't a church & state issue. The Creation Museum is a private (albeit foolish) venture. As such, they are perfectly within their rights to eject someone because they don't like his opinions and/or behavior.

Wrong. Both were/are serious students of the bible.

I believe the history of Christianity overall has been positive, a good for mankind. To separate Christianity from our founding is an impossibility. That is why the Left ran religion out of our schools. Absent religion, the Left moved in with their secular nonsense that is largely responsible for the decline of our republic.

Since you don't believe in Creationism, why do you give a rip about those who do?

Not being a creationists or evolutionists(believe it or not)I have no dog in this fight, but this article reads like something a liberal would write about a black being arrested in their own house by a white cop for disturbing the peace. “I wasn’t doing nothin’, why throw me out?”, smacks of whining. I would bet, and it is too bad there were no cameras running, that these people were loud, rude and obnoxious and deserved to tossed out regardless of their beliefs.JMO.
