Kathleen Parker has an interesting little shtick.
Few noticed her when she was writing from a conservative point of view...until she started attacking conservatives about a year ago. Then she went whole hog and has made a lucrative new career of attacking conservatives...while still going through the motions of pretending to be conservative.
Parker's latest column on the topic of townhall protests is but the latest in her role of pretend conservative. Here is how "conservative" Parker refers to those protesters:
Generally considered a fringe group, the demonstrators have been described derisively by Democratic leaders. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed that some were "carrying swastikas." Sens. Dick Durbin of Illinois and Chuck Schumer of New York have dismissed the protesters as irrelevant.

Soi, Kathleen, does that mean that you believe this statement, or have you conducted some independent research to verify this allegation? Repeating a rumor does not prove it, but it does say more about the repeater than the rumor itself.

The left projects its own worldview on the right.
They’re unable to understand the right, because they lack the mental framework to do so. I can’t find the link right now, but a year or two ago, a study came out that basically said that—given five different categories of relating to others, conservatives used all five fairly equally, where leftists use only two—they’re basically blind to the other three.
That’s why conservatives can understand liberals better than liberals can understand conservatives. That’s why they’re overreaching so drastically right now, and so shocked and surprised by the vehemence and the truly grass-roots nature of opposition to their policies.
They can’t conceive of people self-organizing into groups—people must be led. So they assume that the right has leaders whipping them into a frenzy just like the left does.
They’re tragically wrong, but they don’t have the mental framework to even realize it.
Alinsky RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”
It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also, it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.
In line with this rule, smirking media talking heads are calling the Tea Party attendees “Tea Baggers” to ridicule them.
This is being used against THEM in the “Socialism” poster depicting Obama as the Joker. Keep it up!

Sooner or later the political whores and talking heads will realize LIES HAVE NO POWER. Words have power, yes, but when not backed with logic and reason, they become ineffectual.

Until you jettison K. Parker from your association of “pundits”, I will not visit your site. I will also inform my friends of your association with Ms. Parker, her obviously racist position regarding the POTUS and her complete capitulation to the Democratic Party platform.
Maybe she has a thing for Romney and is in a snit because he didn’t make the GOP presidential candidate cut.
