Snow in August???????????
Where’s Al Gore?????????
Snow in August — YUCK! So much for global warming!
Anyone got Al’s # to see what has gone wrong?
Even Algore doesn’t believe in global warming, but his utterances keep him in the limelight and even got him a Nobel prize.
This is the coolest Summer in SoCal I can remember in years. Right now, it’s approaching 11:00AM and the outside temp. is about 72 F. Been this way for the past 2 weeks. Usually, in mid-August it’s much warmer.

LOL
Headed up there the end of September .. yikes.
Heck! That can happen at any time actually.... LOL...
I’ve driven through Cheyenne, Wyoming before during July and have driven through a snow storm... :-) At the time it happened with me, it was during the 70s.
Then, at Crater Lake, Oregon, they’ve got snow, on record, for every month of the year...
It happens....
That he does! :)
Here in the Colorado mountains, the leaves on the native ground cover started turning red and yellow a few days ago. Looks like an early winter for us, too.
I live at the foot of the Big Horns in Big Horn Wyoming. It is about 50 degrees right now with lots of rain. It has been a very cool and wet summer here, regardless of global warming. The ranchers are loving all the alfalfa, but I think it is going to be a long tough winter.
Read on some news site (been trying to find it) but the article said the sun was going through a phase of reduced output and a mini-ice age could happen ....
Prayers up for the hikers and campers caught unaware.

That’s a wonderful place up there, I’ve been driving around up in that part of the country many times before, all over the place... :-) There’s a lot to see in the general area...
And for the general topic of “global warming”, I should include my standard post here... :-)
Its one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but its quite *another* to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...
THEREFORE..., its also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply *one* video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the *one*...
The following is an *excellent* video documentary on the so-called Global Warming I would recommend it to all FReepers. Its a very well-made documentary.

One of the worst storms I ever saw was at the end of May here in Colorado. Early in the day I was sitting on the deck wearing a swimsuit. Within 45 minutes, we had at least 6 inches of snow.
I’ve seen snow during every month of the year in Colorado. It’s just how things are out west.
You said — Read on some news site (been trying to find it) but the article said the sun was going through a phase of reduced output and a mini-ice age could happen ....

It’s a sort of “convoluted process” that is going for the why and how the sun affects the weather here on earth. It’s not as straightforward as you might think. Take a look at that video in Post #17 and that will give you some idea about it. It may *surprise you* for the reason why things warm up and then cool down ... on earth.
It doesn’t have to do with the sun (necessarily) heating up and cooling off, but rather with the sunspot activity. But, the sunspot activity actually affects *something else* and *not* directly the weather on earth... surprise, surprise... LOL...
Anyway, when there is a sunspot minimum for a long period of time, then you’re going to get cooler weather. But, when there is increased sunspot activity over a longer period of time, then you’re going to have things warm up.
We’re in what is similar to a “Dalton Minimum” right now...., and that will probably mean colder weather for another decade, a shift in the grow zones, to the south, by one grow zone (across this country) and then about a 30% loss in crop output in the U.S. over the next decade because of that...
Dalton Minimum

And then for the “Little Ice Age” we had a few hundred years ago, look at...
Maunder Minimum

Little Ice Age

Absolutely... and people just need to know that it does happen so, even though it may be unusual, it’s not unknown... :-)
