War erupts over Glenn Beck TV show: Fans fight back

Glenn Beck fans are fighting back against a campaign led by a black activist organization prompting major advertisers to withdraw from Beck's top-rated Fox News Channel program.

....

Now a husband and wife team of Beck fans has launched a website – DefendGlenn.com – that lists the contact information for advertisers for Beck's and other Fox News programs and provides users with information and suggestions to contact those companies to urge their continued sponsorship. The site also asks users to contact Beck's current patrons to thank them for their loyalty to the Fox News star's program.

"Our goal is to hit advertisers hard with response from Beck fans with real purchasing power, unlike the instigators of this phony Astroturf boycott," the founder of DefendGlenn told WND.

"At some point they will realize they've been punked by a bunch of paid activists, college students and slacker bloggers in their parents' basements who don't purchase their products anyway," said the founder, who asked that his name be withheld.

Men’s Wearhouse pulled their ads from Mr. Beck’s show. Let them know they lost your business. Men’s Wearhouse should be the easiest of the group to impact.

Retail sales are way down and a large number of their stores are in conservative areas where their customers will not like it that they sided with a radical leftist group against a conservative journalist. Start a chain e-mail to ask people to boycott Men’s Wearhouse. Also consider handing out fliers as near as you can get to their local store letting people know that Men’s Wearhouse sided with a group of radical leftists in an attempt to silence a conservative journalist, Mr. Beck.

Let’s Roll!!! The leadership of the GOP has no spine and no guts, but the rest of us do.

May I use that for a tagline?

Bill Maher said that Laura Bush was like, “Hitler’s dog”. That moron, Kanya West stood on the stage of a nationally televised awards show and screamed that, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people”. Spike Lee made a documentary about Bush blowing up the levees in New Orleans during Katrina. A movie was made about Bush being assasinated. Some fruitloop on Airbag America had a show with gunfire, supposedly firing on Bush. Dan Rather and his cohorts forged documents to take Bush down 53 days out of a Presidential election.

All this while Bush was President, and it doesn’t even begin to describe what else Bush had to endure during his Presidency. Obama and his supporters sure have thin skin. Time to toughen up.

Air America doesn’t get boycotted, cause they have no listeners anyway. LOL.

I am seriously considering canceling Geico too.
**************************************************
If you need another reason to cancel GEICO ... here it is ,, they have had a program since the early 1980’s of buying radar and laser sets for local police departments... the only reason to do so is to increase the number of tickets written and bump your rates.

Even better way to send a message to Men’s Wearhouse would be to collectively select a day to order a suit and and upon receipt of it, return it.

Even if only 10,000 people did it, it would be effective. I imagine it would take a minimum of half a man hour to pick, pack, ship, and process the returned item. So there goes 5000 man hours. An added bonus is that if were done at the right time, it could mess with income projections.

... is it illegal, or a violation of any ethics laws for a government official to petition and/or coerce private companies to drop advertising sponsorships?

Probably, but when has "against the law" ever been an impediment to any of this gang?

Oh so true.

If people take their rights for granted, to the extent that they cannot be bothered to defend them, they will not have them for long.

ADT too? There’s something I can cancel. I don’t have Geico or Progressive, but I do have ADT. I will get another company to do the monitoring.

Email sent to Sargento. I thanked them for saving me time on future shopping trips. One less brand to price-compare.

No, ADT is cool. One of the other FReepers pointed out that it was on the list of “loyal” sponsors. I’ve been busy flogging myself with a wet noodle all night. Think I might actually have a mark by now! :-)

You know, I’ve sent exactly two outraged letters. (Lots of letters of support to my reps.) *Both* times I screwed it up. Maybe I’m not supposed to be so outraged.
