Yes, President Barack Obama has seen the fabled book of secrets from the "National Treasure" film sequel. And he's staying zipped on what's in it.

"I would tell you but I'd have to kill you," Obama joked in a White House interview with talk radio show host Michael Smerconish.

Smerconish said his sons have seen "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," the Disney sequel to its 2004 hit, and know Obama has been provided the book of secrets that only Oval Office occupants are privy to.

"I have," Obama said, going along with the radio host's reference to the fictional "book of secrets" from the movie.(continued)

“””I would tell you but I’d have to kill you,” ..

Not a statement to be taken lightly with Democratic Politicians.

Mr. wee-wee has a book full of secrets of his own. Hope he doesn’t kill anybody trying to protect that.

Not a statement any president should say as humor - ever.

But then, who's to say it wasn't a deliberate "Chicago-style" reminder of how he thinks?

It is nice to imagine that a sitting president would be mature enough, professional enough or simply ‘man’ enough to pass along a book of thoughts, lessons learned or ‘watch out for .....’ to the next Commander in Chief.

I have no doubt that President Reagon would have made some truly remarkable statements, the same with both of the President George and GW Bush.

Can you imagine what President Billy Clinton would have written? His overwhelming ego and his lack of maturity would have been so over-powering that his message would have been little more than a profanity triade against the next president. I suspect that President Zero would write a self-aggrandizing tome of historic proportions, not only for the fact that it would contain no fact, but would be a testament to his narcism.

The reality (as I have suggested many times)
is that only the President has access to the
REAL history of the United States and his predecessors.

Which is being changed as we speak by the Obama forgery team...Reagan now wrote in the secret book: “Democrats have always had the right ideas but I had to run as a Republican because I hate non-whites.”

If you notice how the press treats Hollywood, they will NOT disclose plot details (someone got the final Harry Potter book a day early and there was hell toupee).

BUT given them documents from the Pentagon or some other bit of classified information (e.g. the Abu Ghraib photos while the culprits were already being prosecuted) and they will shout SCOOP!

Smerconish is a total a**hole. His father was my guidance counselor for three years, and who cares? Few needed guidance and he hid in his office with a little window most of the time.

I did my career report for him, big whoop. He may have read some, I don’t GARA. He gave me an A, probably the only time I talked to this loser in three years.

Fun as the movie was, I doubt there would be a “Book of Secrets.”
IMHO, previous leaders have anticipated individuals like Clinton and Obama, and their willingness to put their own welfare before that of the Republic (Alternately, they have their own little empires to protect...).
If such secrets actually exist, they would be available only on a “need to know” basis.
And the President usually doesn't need to know...

Of course there is a book of secrets. Several, actually.

1. The Payback book for the Stimulus money.
2. Minutes of the meetings leading to #3.
3. The Real Health Care Overhaul.
4. CBO explanation of Cap and Trade on the Economy (DOUBLE TOP SECRET!)
