The sad part in the news tonight that the interrogation techniques used on al-Qaeda DID, in fact, result in the disruption of our enemies attacks against the United States and the capture of many members of AQ is the fact that these techniques will no longer be used. Meaning.....it's a waiting game until the next successful attack:
A redacted version of the CIA Inspector General Report on the CIA interrogation program was released today. Media coverage seems to imply that CIA interrogators were constantly going beyond programmatic guidance, where the IG Report found the reality to be that “there were few instances of deviations from approved procedures.” IG Report page 5, para 10. Additionally, the media today has latched on to the use of a gun in an interrogation, without usually reporting the other important element of that salacious story, which is that the interrogator was promptly disciplined for his actions. Jeffrey Smith, CIA Officer Disciplined for Alleged Gun Use in Interrogation, Wash Post (Aug. 23, 2009).Similarly going unreported today is that the release of the IG report should finally put to rest claims that the CIA interrogation program was not effective and did not produce actionable intelligence, made, for example, by Senator Whitehouse on the floor of the Senate on June 9, 2009. Analysis of the effectiveness of the CIA interrogation program in the IG Report reveals the following:
• “Agency senior managers believe that lives have been saved as a result of the capture and interrogation of terrorists who were planning attacks, in particular, Khalid Shaykh Muhammad, Abu Zubaydah, Hambali, and Al-Nashiri.” page 88 para 217. • After the use of the enhanced interrogation techniques on the bomber of the USS Cole, “al-Nashiri provided lead information on other terrorists during his first day of interrogation.” pages 35-36, para 76. • Hambali “provided information that led to the arrest of previously unknown members of an Al-Qa’ida cell in Karachi.” page 87 para 216. • Intelligence derived from the CIA interrogation program led to a general increase in relevant intelligence reports, producing over 3,000 intelligence reports between 9/11 and the end of April 2003. page 86 para 213. • A redacted entity “judge the reporting from detainees as one of the most important sources for finished intelligence.” Similarly, another redacted entity “viewed analysts’ knowledge of the terrorist target as having much more depth as a result of information from detainees and estimated that detainee reporting is used in all counterterrorism articles produced for the most senior policymakers.” page 88 para 218.
Analysis of the effectiveness of the CIA interrogation program in documents released with the CIA IG report reveals the following:

The CIA: yet another group thrown under the bus by Obummer and his administration.
With insurers, the rich, Israel, American veterans and the elderly, it’s getting pretty crowded under that damn bus.
The CIA didn’t get the “Hopey Changey” they were looking for.
What is especially sad is that whereas the government can get the trust of the intel agencies back once a reasonably competent President is elected and the Justice Dept. made non-political, the U.S. will never recover the trust required to allow a free interchange of intel with allies. This will be part of The Messiah’s legacy which he seems so consumed with.
My prediction has been that the CIA will be the downfall of Obummer, the Marxist.
Those guys have methods that we never would dream of.
They will be the ones that find out what is on that birth certificate, what was in his college thesis, and a lot more.

I saw it tonight and it was the first of a week long series that will blow your mind.
Such behavior is extremely ill advised for One who has so much exposure. If this persists, it is likely to end badly. Embarrassing information, that can be confirmed, can really do a number on a sitting president.

The CIA appears to be the third war the Obama administration is fighting. It is the ONLY war where Obama and his henchmen believe victory is required, otherwise they 1) would have denounced Nancy Pelosi's denials, and 2) would show appreciation for the fine work the CIA has done through many years of war (while the Obama administration has worked diligently to free combatants).

You know, the CIA really are political backstabbers, they sure did Bush few good turns. But now the spooks get to see how they like a real crap sandwich with Obama prosecuting agents, all for protecting America.
I just don’t understand Obama and Holder, are they this stupid? Petty intramural games like the Plame affair are somewhat understandable political chess. But when TOTUS goes out to strangle and disrupt his own intelligence agency, what does he think will happen once CWII begins? That the spooks won’t remember being sold down the river?

Back around 1975, DEMOCRAT (who woulda guessed?) Senator Frank Church held hearings on the operation of the CIA and found that — HORRORS — taxpayer money was being paid to foreign citizen snitches who had CRIMINAL RECORDS for vital human, on-the-ground intel on the activities of those who were planning the destruction of this country. Church commented at one session that “Gentlemen do not read other gentlemens’ mail.” Interesting how Church and his fellow Dimocraps viewed men who would destroy America “gentlemen.” Glad that a**hole didn’t serve during the run-up to WWII. (Although he may have handled the “delayed” communication to Pearl Harbor that the Japanese were on the way!)
When he became president, Jimmy Carter fully supported and enforced the Church Amendment.
The sorts of people who consort with — and, more importantly, get cozy with — the leaders of terrorist organizations are not normally choir boys. Church moved the legislature to PROHIBIT any US funds going to these potential informants. Since it can take upwards of 20 years for these guys to move close enough to the top to be seriously valuable, we had virtually NO humintel on bin Laden’s plans for 9-11!
While there are still Church-like imbeciles (Reid, Pelosi, et al come to mind) at the levers of power here, I THINK the law has been changed.
While the NSA wiretaps and eavesdrops on US citizens HERE, isn’t it comforting to know that in just 15 or 20 years we may be able to thwart a plan hatched THERE for some future 9-11 with information gathered THERE.
Now our guys are required to MERANDIZE enemy combatants NOT wearing uniforms and displaying NO recognizable military patches, etc., etc., all of which, de facto, removes them from the protections afforded under the Geneva Convention. In past conflicts, the Geneva Convention permits the capturing forces to shoot these guys on the spot. Of course, any trooper caught doing that would be up on charges in the morning.
Anybody else see a pattern here?
The morons now “leading” (and I use that term very loosely) the United States have finally achieved something I thought impossible: They’ve tied BOTH our hands behind our backs. They will get MILLIONS of us KILLED before they are removed from office – hopefully in 2010 and 12.
