Naomi Klein: Zionists hinder reparations
Political Mavens (Jewish World Review) ^ | 8/25/'09 | Jonathan Kay

The logic of her article runs like this: The 2001 and 2009 Durban Conferences were principally aimed at delivering social justice for the African ancestors of slaves shipped off to America and other racist white nations. But Israel, the U.S. government and the world’s right-wing media instead focused on the shrill anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic rhetoric and intimidation that characterized the lead-up to the conference and the parallel NGO sessions. As a result, the Bush (and then Obama) administrations got the excuse they secretly coveted to distance themselves from the Durban process, and much of the rest of the world followed suit. The result has been a sullying of the Durban brand and its virtuous pro-African agenda. Chalk up another crime to lay at the feet of Israel & Co.!

What about the even larger number of African slaves shipped off racist Middle Eastern Muslim countries?

Nazi Klein...another one of those anti-Semites.

Those Durban Conferences are nothing more than Nuremburg Rallies. And, it gives the Afro-Racists something to spew about....

And just who was it that captured and sold those slaves in the first place?

I wonder just how many of these poor slave descendants woulds rather have grown up in africa, than in the richest nation in the world... (isn’t that reparation enough?)

but if they really want reparations, repatriation ought to be included, and the reparations should come from those who made them slaves in the first place.

and, or course only to those who actually were slaves.

Naomi Klein is consistently at the bottom of the excrement pile referred to by the glitterati as “intellectual”. My persian cat has more coherent ideas for racial harmony, namely “I can tolerate anyone as long as I get fed.”. It’s a shame too, because Naomi is kinda cute.

Which slaves? Muslim slave traders in East Africa often took the direct approach and raided for slaves themselves.

This didn’t work in West Africa, where strong African kingdoms controlled the coast and the slave trade with the hinterland. Due to tropical diseases (and the natives), Europeans who tried to make their way inland seldom lasted more than a few months.
