A 24-year-old arrested this morning on suspicion of smashing 11 windows at Colorado Democratic Party headquarters tried to conceal his identity while allegedly committing the crime, according to police descriptions.
Maurice Schwenkler wore a shirt over his face, a hooded sweat shirt and latex gloves before he and another man fled the scene on bicycles, police said. Schwenkler was apprehended after a short chase. The other suspect remains at large.
While Schwenkler does not appear in the state's voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for "communications," according to campaign finance disclosures.

Or a HERM.
Barney Fwank’s gonna be upset that you compared a Democrat to Nazis again...
Ding, ding, ding! A very good question, popdonnelly!
Unfortunately, I don't think any prosecutors or investigative journalists will be looking into that possibility anytime soon.
If anyone did look into the matter further, I'd bet the answer to your excellent question would be, "yep."
Heh, heh, I just googled the Colorado Citizens Coalition, and it’s a front group for the SEIU!
I feel a leftist Reichstag fire coming on too. The air feels heavy and thick like it does right before a storm.
That Shwenkler kid
He’s an ass
He played havoc on your glass
You’re a nitwit, Patty Waak,
Leave the right alone
Democrats attack their own.
Is this a girl or a boy?
Yes.
I heard about this on a Denver radio station this afternoon when the perpetrator was still “unidentified” and the media was implying it had to be opponents of Obamacare. I knew, right then and there, it was a dem operative trying to make those opposed look like violent radicals. The fact that an anti-Obamacare poster was pasted over one of the damaged windows was just the biggest tipoff ever.
And whatever happened to the investigation into the swastika spray painted at the congressmans office? Did anyone get busted for that?

Exactly. And it was to be NEVER heard of, again.
He looks as though he is full of ‘FAIL and AIDS’....to quote and OLD interbutts meme.
I noticed the same thing in this AP story, posted within the past hour.
So, I looked up the AP Colorado bureau, link here, and gave them a call. I was hoping that the story's writer, P. Solomon Banda, was still in the office. He wasn't, but the gal who answered the phone said she would take a message. So I told her what the Denver Post reporter had learned, and said that Mr. Banda would probably want to look into the new info and update his story.
She was a little bit dismissive of me, she was busy, they were all busy, perhaps they would update the story tomorrow... I said, "OK. I guess i should send Mr. Banda an email with this information rather than have you try to relay information in the morning without notes. Can I get your name?"
She said, "Why do you want my name?" I responded that I would just like to have it so that I could tell Mr. Banda that I had called his office before sending him the email. That seemed to settle her paranoia down a bit and she told me, "My name is Judy Kohler."
"What's your name?"
I gave her my name and thanked her for her help. I don't know why she was so edgy about giving her name. I mean, she writes news stories for a living fer pete sake. I would think she likes seeing her name in print.
Anyway, here's what i sent to Mr. Banda's email (available at the AP Colorado link above). Oh, and if anyone else wants to give them a call, the phone number is also at that link. The 800 number is only good in CO, it appears. I had to make the call on my dime.
====================================
Dear Mr. Banda,
I heard a short news blurb about the vandalism at the Denver Dem HQ and Googled for more news reports. The first report I read was posted a couple hours ago, by Jessica Fender at the Denver Post. And the second article I read was yours, posted approximately 1 hr ago. I am writing this to you because the Denver Post story has more information on the vandal who the police took into custody, Maurice Schwenkler.
From Ms. Fender's article:
While Schwenkler does not appear in the state's voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for "communications," according to campaign finance disclosures.
The accountant for the 527 appears to be the same woman who handles the books for many other Democratic-leaning political committees.
A Maurice Schwenkler also signed an online 2005 petition to free anti-war Christian protesters who were captured in Iraq.
State Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Waak initially blamed the vandalism on animosity surrounding the health care debate, though Denver police declined to comment on possible motives.
I thought I'd give you a heads-up on the new information so you could look further into the story and update yours, in the interest of fairness and accuracy of reporting; as your story has the state Dem Party Chairwoman insinuating, apparently unfairly, that this vandalism was perpetrated by an angry right-winger.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope you will look further into the story and update yours as needed. For instance, when I Googled the Colorado Citizens Coalition I found several legitimate websites which showed that the CCC has a relationship with the Service Employees International Union - SEIU.
The SEIU is the union that has been sending busloads of its members to town hall meetings around the country; and in some instances, their members have roughed-up, and been arrested for same, opponents of the proposed health care reform legislation.
Thanks again, in advance, for your interest.

We'll see if AP updates the info in their story, or if they dig even further.
It's nice to dream.
Filming them in the act is virtually our only defense short of cleansing the planet of their oxygen-wasting pus, which would make us no better than them... despite that we have them outnumbered by about 10,000 to 1 by my best estimate.
They really want us to come out shooting, but their worst nightmare will be when we do... with our video cameras!
;-/
Agreed
Good for you.
I do have to warn you that tomorrow is bring your dog to work day in Denver. I’m sure the Colorado AP writer will be very busy covering that.
LOL!
if they had gone uncaught, you know who would have taken responsibility for this.
Is it a guy or a girl?
Either way, she’s gonna get hit in jail.
