This from Today's THV, "Jonesboro police say a man was killed after being beaten by a homeowner during an apparent home invasion.
Police say a man armed with a shotgun broke into the home about 11 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses told police the homeowner scuffled with the intruder before striking him in the head with a tire iron. The suspected intruder was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Up north they call them crow bars! When i moved south years ago had to get used to calling the tool a tire iron. In any event it certainly ‘lugged a nut’ albeit in an alternative green carbonless manner.

In Chicago, we call em tire irons also. They are quite handy, but the smart city driver keeps his under the driver’s seat and not in the trunk, where it will do him no good in a real roadside emergency :)

Something tells me this guy didn’t have a lot of brains in the first place. Did he not know how to operate the shotgun? I mean, how does a guy wielding a tire iron get close enough to a guy wielding a shotgun to connect the tire iron with the shotgun-wielder’s head?
