Mad, bad and dangerous to know-Conservatives in America playing with fire, inciting violence

Conservatives in America are playing with fire by inciting violence against the country's first black president

"Does the sun ever shine during a Democratic administration?" asked Jon Stewart on a recent edition of The Daily Show, in a nod to the rightwing hysteria over the current White House incumbent. "With Obama in office now, when babies laugh do you hear only the sound of kittens drowning?"

Stewart is a comedian, but this is no laughing matter. The lies perpetrated against Obama – that he is a foreigner, a Marxist, a Nazi, a racist, intent on interning the elderly and euthanising the disabled – and the ensuing hatred and virulence, have reached fever pitch.

I could only rub my eyes in disbelief when I saw footage of one protester standing outside an Obama town hall meeting in New Hampshire with a loaded handgun strapped to his leg, holding a placard proclaiming: "It is time to water the tree of liberty," in reference to the Thomas Jefferson quote "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants and patriots." In Maryland, one man went even further, holding up a sign saying: "Death to Obama" and "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids".

This militant, rightwing craziness comes on the back of the now-infamous ad published in a Pennsylvania newspaper in May, calling for Obama to be assassinated – and, of course, in the wake of a presidential election campaign in which crowds at Republican rallies shouted "Kill him!", as well as "Treason!" "Terrorist!" and "Off with his head!"

Missed this one...Anyone else catch this in May?

Never saw anything like that, but these people don't deal in facts, just in exciting emotions.

Like the guy with the sign about offing the first family. Never heard who he was or anything else. He CONVIENTLY wasn't arrested or questioned, so my guess was he was a plant for a photo-op so the MSM could claim the right-wing conspiracy was turning violent.

Let’s not forget the paper is English, that the English heard complaints from here before and misunderstood the serious nature of said complaints, that the English are now led by appeasers, not a Churchillian leader, and - most important of all - the are subjects while we are citizens.

Yeah, they (the libs) are so willing to spout off and ‘claim’ certain things but never provide proof. And have you noticed, everything they accuse us of, they actually do?

In Maryland, one man went even further, holding up a sign saying: "Death to Obama" and "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids".

And if this writer had any understanding of political behavior in the US today, his first suspicion would be that those signs were being carried by leftists, knowing our in-the-tank media would blame it on conservatives without a single question entering their mushy little heads.

Neah, we hear the sounds of vacuums starting up to suck out their brains. After all, according to his advisers, a baby isn't human being yet.
And that's only one of the travesties for which President Obama stands.

As for being a Marxist, and racist, his history makes it clear that he is those things and others besides.

Yes. It's called projectionism...and its one of their favorite tools.

What many have said is that this will be the effect of his policies, not that it is his intent.

He HAS expressed that as his intent. Remember the "blue pill" comment? Have you read "The Plan", which he is plainly following? Oh sure he hasn't put it that crassly, but his axiom is clear: if your life "isn't worth living" by his standards, you shouldn't ... he may not off you, but he'll persuasively & rhetorically say "are you sure it's all worth it?" and hand you the forms directing the doc to pull the plug.

If it were not his intent, he would not advocate policies promoting the consequences.

Every time the left blames Bush or the right wing, God kills a kitten.

Please think of the kittens.

If you don’t see a difference between Obama’s rhetoric and being “intent on interning the elderly and euthanising the disabled,” then we don’t really have much to discuss.

Hyperbole never helps a cause, in the long run.

For 0bama to be a nationalist socialist he would first have to be a nationalist. Which nation? He certainly isn't much of an American nationalist.
