Dear MoveOn member,
Senator Ted Kennedy started fighting for health care for all Americans more than forty years ago.
Now it's up to each and every one of us to pick up the torch carried by Senator Kennedy for so long. We can't wait any longer to pass health care reform for everyone.
With just days until Congress returns to D.C., MoveOn members are organizing hundreds of candlelight vigils across the country for all the people suffering under our broken health care system.
Next Wednesday, there's a vigil in Oak Park. Can you make it?
Click here for more details and to RSVP:
Yes, I'll be there on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
Sorry, I can't make it.
Every day, 14,000 people lose health care coverage, and thousands face bankruptcy each month because of medical bills.1 We hear from lots of MoveOn members who are struggling because of the high cost of coverage or denial of care.
At the vigils, from coast to coast, we'll read the names and hear the stories of hundreds of these peoplefolks who are suffering under our broken health care system. It'll be a powerful reminder to Congress and the media why health care reform is so urgent.
We're calling these "We Can't Afford to Wait" vigils. Click here for more details and to RSVP for the vigil in Oak Park:

Maybe we could crash some of these parties.
Candle vigils. How sweet.
Of course they want to change it from Obamacare to Kennedycare. Nobody want to be associated with something that is destined to fail.
So, give it to the dead guy.
I will NOT be calling it Kennedycare.
Will Kennedycare improve the prospects for drowning victims?
It makes for a good bumper sticker...
Will ‘bammy’s narcissism let it be called Kennedycare?
It’s “KopechneCare.” They want it renamed in honor of the swimmer.
Better: KopechneCare. Because America can’t wait.
Wow, you are good! Great for a tagline!
Actually, FReeper Maggief came up with it. I just tweaked it a bit.
I was wondering if they are insisting on calling it KennedyCare shouldn’t we then call it MaryJoCare to remind people how well Kennedy took care of other people?
Q. What do you call three winos on a downtown corner holding candles?
A. An Obamacare Vigil
I’ll be doing some KennedyCare myself this weekend. I’m setting up a kegger to celebrate.
WellstoneCare.
WellstoneCare.
This is great - let them turn this into another Wellstone memorial moment.
