Stones thrown at Gothenburg firemen

"Fire fighters in Gothenburg were attacked with stones on Thursday night as they rushed to tackle the latest in a series of fires with suspected connections to youth gangs that have raged across the city in the last week.

The rescue workers were met by stone-throwing youths shortly after midnight as they attempted to put out a fire in a newspaper storage box on Tamburingatan in the Västra Frölunda suburb."

So police dispersed the thugs, huh? Wonder how they did it -- the Swedish government would probably offer them money if they would just stop being bad boys. Just wonder though, what do you suppose these young men looked like?

At least the Press in Sweden did not take the side of the "Youth" as they would in America. Our press idolizes protesters unless they are against Liberals/Progressives.

Notice our Press is shunning Cindy Sheehan now that she is protesting Obama's war.

"Youth gangs". Say, I wonder if there might be some common religious denominator for the members of these youth gangs. Something like...oh, I don't know, maybe Islam?

On the other hand, I'm 200 miles away from Gothenburg at the moment, hiding from the Ramadan riots:)

Seriously, I'm visiting my brother in another part of the country.

Anyhow, Gothenburg has seen much less of this trouble than the smaller Swedish city of Malmö.

There are lots of Muslims in my city, but for some reason they behave differently.

For instance, In Malmö, young Muslim kids throwing stones emergency vehicles and especially local buses is an everyday thing.

In Gothenburg, this phenomena is not common.

Maybe this is because the Muslims of Gothenburg reside in areas where they are mixed with non-Muslim immigrants to a larger extent than in places like infamous Rosengård in Malmö, I don't know.
