The Bible NEVER commands that we must accept all of the Bible literally, not once.
Genesis is a fairly consistent account, when compared to the Big Bang and to Evolution, and it would be difficult to write a Creation story, at that time, any better than Genesis.

God does not give a rip if we believe in Genesis, literally, or not.
