So what did you mean by ‘thrown out of his/her Church’? For someone with a master’s degree, that’s a terribly ambiguous statement. Indeed, on face value it is untrue. Some wiggle room can be allowed, but what exactly do you mean by that?
I just read on another thread that the Vatican overturned the Church annulment of Joe Kennedy, Jr. and his wife, Sheila. Never heard that before.
Getting back again..I saw her in the assembly and she was shaking. I suspect some medical illness.

It might be an odd thing to do..she was giving a hug to the kids that spoke which I think was natural. And she, as step mom,wants to be supportive. And the other thing to keep in mind is that when faced with such an almost unnatural thing as having to lay to rest a loved one, there is no right or wrong for the grieving person to do. And I think Vicki is dignified and gracious through all of this. No matter how we feel about Ted, she loved him. And by all accounts was good for him in his personal life. She is hurting right now. So if giving and receiving hugs give her comfort that is a good thing.
If the person who did not want the divorce meets someone new, they can not have that relationship until there is an annulment. If they have a relationship without an annulment then they are out of the communion of the church. I have dealt with this with friends. It’s devastating. If my husband divorced me, I would stay single and not in a relationship.
I’ve been trying to remember all day who the 2nd generation Kennedy was who wanted his marriage annulled, but his wife wouldn’t go along with it. Maybe it was Joe Kennedy, Jr. She said if she did that, it would make their children illegitimate. Now, it seems that there could be exceptions (e.g. if there was also a civil ceremony).
The intricacies of annulments, civil and clerical, is way beyond me, much less how it affects the status of children of an annuled marriage. My memory is young Joe wanted and got an annulment against his wife’s wishes from the Boston Diocese. His wife wrote an expose type book; his political career went in the tank.
I think he remarried, but now that the Vatican overturned the Boston annulment, that would mean that the 2nd marriage in the eyes of the Church is not legitimate. All waaaaay too complicated.

If you look closely at the picture, I don’t think it’s actually a rosary, but does bear a strong resemblance. A real rosary has a small section between the 5 ‘decades’ and the cross, Maria’s necklace doesn’t have that.
Could be but it was announced the other night that Vickie Kennedy was NOT going to seek the seat, but I guess a widow could be persuaded ;)
She comes from another highly political, corrupt family in New Orleans. So, of course she can work a room!

Bob Schrum said she will definitely not seek the seat but there’s talk Joe may be persuaded. BTW just learned that John and Elizabeth Edwards attended last night and I wonder if the family invited him or he simply crashed.

whatever. he was given the annulment so he could re-marry. that is not a valid reason. your point seems to be on the top of your head.
