Patriarch Bob Schindler has passed away

jillstanek.com

Jill Stanek

I just received the sad new from Schindler family friend Bro. Paul O'Donnell that family patriarch Bob Schindler passed away early this morning in a FL hospital.

Bob was 72 years old and died of heart failure. His health had been deteriorating somewhat, but his death was still unexpected. He was admitted to the hospital only yesterday complaining of shortness of breath.

I'm so sad for this dear family, who has endured so much. Bro. Paul told me Bob was never quite the same after Terri was killed by denial of hydration and nutrition on March 31, 2005.

Bob's funeral is tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 4, in the Philadelphia area. Details to follow.

Please join me in praying for the Schindler family's comfort and peace at this tragic time. I know the family is very close, and Bob's death will devastate them.

Are...you...serious?
Ted Kennedy has dreamed/planned& fought for this kind of 'so called health care' bill for years and years.

So, his being on Terri's side was a ruse just like Bush 43? Maybe that's possible. They voted for Terri knowing the fix was in. I might buy into that theory. Anyway, I'm not watching Teddy coverage. The cult of personality is dead at our household.

Mr. Schindler was above it all.

In spite of the Republican support and Bobby Schindler's persuasiveness, there was formidable opposition to passing a law to save Terri.

The ringleader of the opposition to the Senate bill, according to Bobby, was none other than Senator Ted Kennedy, the Catholic senior senator from Massachusetts.

It struck me as ironic that Kennedy, whose opposition to the death penalty is passionate, led the opposition to a law that would have given Terri the same right to a hearing as condemned criminals. The opposition in the Senate led to the adoption of a compromise bill that gave relief to the Schindlers alone, and not the broader protection offered by the House bill.

The Schindlers are such an extraordinary family. I don’t think Mr. Schindler will have to wait very long, if at all, to see his beautiful daughter, Terri. God love you, Mr. Schindler ... God love you, Terri. My prayers are with you both. And I’m praying for your family as well.

If what had been done to Terri was done to a Gitmo American murdering terrorist, the looney left would have been yelling from every rooftop demanding an investigation, trial, and execution.

With Red Ted leading the way.

Let us remember what a loving person and remarkable father Terri and her siblings were blessed with!

I won't do it to you. "Find me the link..." Kind of petty to argue something from 2005, ya think?

Some democrats voted for Terri. I was kinda busy bk then. I thought it was Ted. Maybe it was another democrat. You gotta remember we were outside baking in the sun and there was Terri news in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Sometimes when somebody's at ground zero like many of us were, we weren't down there counting votes.

I was watching Tallahassee instead and the sad part was that it was the Republicans in Tallahassee who voted against Terri. We can't blame Teddy Kennedy for our RINO reps in Tallahassee even from her own county who voted against Terri. I don't care to argue about who was for or against Terri. Terri's gone. her father's gone, Teddy's gone, and so is Jim King. THE REPUBLICAN FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TOOK TERRI'S LIFE and the REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR and REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT sat on their privileged hands.

Ted Kennedy (because of his sisters Rosemary and Eunice) was generally on the side of the disabled. However, in Terri’s case he flip-flopped some. He wanted to let her live, but didn’t want Congress to stop the execution.

“No injury is so profound or disability so severe that we should diminish the fundamental dignity of the human being,” said Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) last week in his opening remarks while co-chairing the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) hearing on healthcare provided to non-ambulatory persons.

However, Senator Ted Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat, wasted no time in attacking the Senate for passing a bill to stop Terri’s painful 13 day starvation death.

”Republican leaders abused their positions of power to play politics with Terri Schiavo’s life,” he said, according to an Inter Press Service report.

Kennedy also bashed Republicans who have called for a review of the judges who failed to abide by the law Congress overwhelmingly approved.

Lord, please receive your faithful servant with welcoming arms. May Terri and her father’s reunion be nothing but joy. And please comfort the remaining family members - the journey here has been hell for them - we pray for continued strength and grace for them. In Christ’s name...

Thanks for the clarification wagglebee...

floriduh voter, as a Floridian, I wished I could have been there...

..I happened to be in Denver for the duration of Terri's ordeal...

..but was praying hard for the right outcome.

It was agony to watch our legislators turn a deaf ear and a cold heart.

You know, it may have been more stressful to watch the coverage on tv. All of our hands were tied - it was dreadful, wasn't it?

So many said our country changed after Terri took her last breath.

We must always believe the best is yet to come but it's not going to happen any time soon.

Freedom is what we need.

I posted this on another thread, but this is what I believe. The culture of death drew Terri’s murder out over a long period of time in order to employ continual public opinion polling to determine what the American people would tolerate. Terri’s murder was a “test run” for the death panels they want to implement nationwide.

I do not believe that the Bushes set out to kill Terri, but I do believe that they failed to make use of constitutional powers that they both could have used to save her.

As far as Ted Kennedy, he started out like Sargent and Eunice Schriver, but somewhere along the way he embraced the culture of death. I think it’s very possible that Terri reminded him of his sister Rosemary and he probably wanted her to live, but he didn’t want Congress setting any pro-life precedent.
