Outrageous!! All these people are crooks! We need to regain control now!

We’re talking state income taxes here, not a matter for the IRS to decide.

Florida, the state that has one congressional representative who lives in Maryland. Of course he is a dem so no one did or said anything about it. When uncovered, he said he was living at his mothers home in Florida.
Surely when it came to tax time he claimed to be Floridian, right?

The author doesn’t know much about the life styles of the rich and famous. None of these guys pay estate taxes. Those are for the peons!
All of these guys set up trusts long ago and they just draw salary and expenses from the trust. When they die the next generation sucks their livelihood from the same trust.
Oh, don’t try this yourself. The laws are written so it’s too expensive for ordinary mortals to join this kind of tax evasion lifestyle. You know, the kind of people Teddy spent his life “helping”.

If I were a judge, I’d point out that the IRS doesn’t CARE which state you live in, except that if you live in FLA, you don’t get to exempt state income taxes paid. It would be the MA state treasury that would be concerned.

You're talking about Wexler, and it's worse than you stated.
He claimed his mother-in-law's home, which was an over-55 senior's condo.

My medium income brother looked at this possibility. It’s not so much expensive as it is a royal bookkeeping pain in the neck. All income has to be sent to the trust, all property has to be owned by the trust, all bills have to be paid by the trust. The rich can afford the bookkeeper to offload said pain.

If he
legally established his residence in Florida how on God's green earth could he still be a Massachusetts Senator when the Devil finally caught him up?
If this is true his Senate seat has been vacant since the day he did so.

And, don’t you just love how people buy into the notion that the DEMs are for the little, working guy, while the Republicans represent the rich?
Why don’t people research these things? They might learn a thing or two instead of parroting talking points.

I doubt it’s true. They rented property in Florida over the winter (sold the Palm Beach house years ago).

If Teddy Kennedy had been a legal resident of Florida (presumably to evade Massachusetts taxes), wouldnt that have made him ineligible to serve as a Senator from Massachusetts or doesnt Massachusetts have a residency requirement. Great catch

How could it be possible for a senator from MA to have his primary residence in FL? It seems to me that in order to do so, he would first have to resign his office of senator.
If the republicans don’t make their number one issue of TAX CHEATS in the dem party, they’re even more pathetic than even I believe them to be!
