Patriot Emergency Communications System Needed

Posted on 08/29/2009 3:54:17 PM PDT by oldfart

One of the nice things about internet bulletin boards is the anonymity of each poster. Of course it isn’t perfect since the board owner has enough information to positively identify everyone and TPTB can (and probably will) demand that data whenever they choose. In the meantime there is one way our paranoia can be used against us.

We all swear that our “line in the sand” is the confiscation of our guns. We say that if and when it happens we will get the word out on the internet and thus mobilize thousands of patriots.

Good idea. But what if there is no internet? What if the President decides to use his power to turn off private access to the net before the confiscation begins? How will we notify others of what is happening?

One thing this administration has taught me is to never assume they’re doing anything abstractly… they always have a good reason for what they do and when they do it. After years in the Illinois legislature furthering gun control Obama has spent eight months in the Presidency without even so much as trying to push a gun control bill. But in the last week we’ve heard that at least one Federal judge (from Chicago, I believe)believes gun registration is Constitutional and now we see a bill introduced to give the President new powers to control the internet in the event of some ill-defined “cyber emergency.” Where other Presidents have – when once elected – generally ignored the organizations that helped them get elected, this President is advertising for “recruits” to continue working for the “change” he espoused.

I wonder what color their shirts will be, brown?

So suppose TPTB discover (or manufacture) some sort of ‘cyber emergency,’ shut down servers all over the country and then begin kicking in doors. How do we get the word out? We’ll still have computers but they’ll be severely handicapped. We used to be able to simply call up the other guy’s computer and converse back and forth. But we had the “other guy’s” phone number then too – and his name! Now, in our paranoia, we’ve hidden behind screen names that usually don’t even describe us very well. One name that I see on several boards is “LYCAN.” How would I contact him without the internet? What if he were the first one to be raided? How would any of us know in time to be ready for our own “knock on the door?”

We need some sort of phone tree where each of us has two or more numbers to contact if the balloon goes up. Perhaps there’s some way we could utilize those cheap throwaway phones I see at the supermarket checkout line. Comments?

I am disabled so I spend a lot of time in front of these monitors. :) I don’t miss much. Have Fox News, Free Republic, Drudge,J Post, and a couple others on the big screen in tabs...other stuff is weather related or Em Com related. I have a 20/5 pipe and I still NEED more speed :)

I'm a US Navy Air Reconnaissance Squadron vet.

And yes, you can avoid exact location if you know what you are doing.

Still, for the laymen here, please indicate that transmission is a very dangerous thing if somebody is looking for you.

I have no idea what names he’s had to turn over, but Jim has posted before that he has been required to turn over identities of people on the site to law enforcement authorities on a couple of occasions.

And it’s not a slam on Jim to point out what he already mentioned. With the current batch of fascists and socialists running things I would be surprised if he wouldn’t continue to get requests. Who would have thought we’d now have a bill for Barack to be able to shut down the Internet over a ‘national cyber emergency?’ And yet, it is now intro’d in Congress.

Ok so what I am told is that the unit has SEVERAL highly sensitive sensors that can measure a wide range of emissions. They can be used for fairly precise triangulation of an emission using the DSP and very high speed dedicated units for tracking the signal. It can capture the signal in a VERY short time period - just like the F-22. In fact the F-22 uses the target's emission(s) signature to identify it and track. I have also been told that the system is so good it can track a vehicle ignition and alternator signature. Of course proximity and background are issues.

I have also read articles that indicate the AQ and Towelaban have all but abandoned electronic communication devices for runners. We are very successful at finding them when they light anything up. Now, I suspect the system can be jammed or confused if you can direct enough power at it. Problem then is you are a very bright hotspot and you will get a Hellfire up your a$$.

No offense but if they pull the Internet I am automatically at Condition Orange and gearing up for Condition Red.

Okay, this is all very interesting and useful but what I originally intended was to find some way to get the word out immediately so a counter-offensive could be mounted right away. Look back at the two major incidents we all remember: Ruby Ridge and Waco. We were caught with our pants down and either couldn't or wouldn't help. We also bought into the govenment/media line that the objects of the actions were public enemies not worthy of help.

So, what happens if you hear a bunch of sirens and look out the window and see you shooting buddy who lives down the street is surrounded by bad guys? I'd hope you'd grab a rifle and start picking off whatever goons you could see but I'd also hope you'd first try to get the word out that TEOTWAWKI had arrived. Ordinarily you'd fire up the computer or your cell phone and sound the alarm. But if those are down, what do you do? Sure, CB will probably get the word out around town but how about the next town over, or the next state over? And can you get enough people together quickly enough to drive off the zombies?

That's the problem I see. We can get the word out over a wide area but not nearly as quickly as the media can spread their version. No one in their right mind wants to go to war so most will use whatever plausible excuse they can find to avoid it. If the talking heads on the tube are telling them that your buddy is closet terrorist and that we're really lucky that he's been found out you might prefer to believe it rather than get shot at.

As I said, these are all good ideas but we need other ideas too. Keep thinking folks, keep thinking.

An off the wall thought just occurred to me, its not hard to buy air horns from big rigs at a salvage yard and to have these connected to an air tank and compressor, something for a neighborhood watch setup, or better yet a siren than can replicate the old warning sirens we used to hear when we were younger, with some materials I could fabricate one easily but of course I’m a fabricator.

Or for that matter its not hard to have some large high output speaker horns like what a lot of churches and sports arenas use and have an electronic siren, warbler and amplifier, must be a lot of those in the pawn shops lately.

I’m thinking of a large, I mean LARGE mechanical siren made from an industrial turbine blower assembly I happen to have in the yard at work, after a little trial and error and some research I could build the slotting and connect to a large motor, this is something that if its large enough you would hear for miles.

OK we all must get to crunch time and come up with some real viable alternatives because if the plug gets pulled we will become lost and disjointed, well maybe not for a lot who have close connections or living close by, in my case being in Alaska its both a blessing and a curse.

I am becoming more interested in long range radio over the horizon capability in at the least in receivers. If I were to ever transmit in a nasty scenario it would be a mobile concealed unit. I can imagine using an old boom truck that would have a system to extend a 100’ antenna real quick. And able to conceal it.

I know nothing about building electronics.

But I was wondering about a homemade high speed data transmitter ,something that could send messages at high speed packet or Morse code, messages could uploaded on to it from a computer and then transmitted on cb or ham radio freq at 125/130 WPM and then picked up on an simple receiver/scanner where it could be downloaded on a laptop

As long as the transmission was under 1 minute.you probably could get away with it if you just made one broadcast.

Ok so what I am told is that the unit has SEVERAL highly sensitive sensors that can measure
Log 'spirals' usable from UHF into the uWave region isn't going to cut it at as a 'sensor' at 3.8 MHz (I guess you *don't* know what they use under those RF-transparent radomes of the UAVs or HARMs).

Hand-waving, all you've got is 'hand waving' as a reply. And 'appeal to (some kind of ) authority (or magic?)' in the way of mentioning 'DSPs' in two posts now; DSPs are so passe.

Anyone who wants speed today is using fast FPGAs between their DSP chip sets and their damn-fast ADCs for data acquisition.

The person who shared the limited amount of info I have did not tell me the sensor capability range(s) and yes there are other features in the system that are very advanced. i do know that there are many dead Muzzies who thought they could beat it.
