Firefighters' goal: Keep the fire within the blue line. The northern flank is nearing the Acton area, prompting evacuations along Highway 14. The fire is two miles from Mt. Wilson, site of communications towers and an observatory. To the southwest, flames are still spreading above the foothills above the 210. La Crescenta and La Cañada Flintridge expands evacuation areas.

It seems like they’ve kept this away from the homes thus far. Cooling trend begins tomorrow... firefighters just need to make it through the day.

Thanks for posting. Here I though we were getting smoke and ash from way north of us and it turns out there is a fire in Hemet, CA only 25 miles away.

Thank you for this. My brother is in La Canada Flintridge and was evacuated Thursday at 11:00 p.m. We are looking for every scrap of news we can get and are praying the house stands.

I wash just going to post that link. There's a lot of incredibly expensive hardware up there & this fire is perilously close to incinerating it all. I just can't believe how big the Station Fire is now - sometime after the last time I looked yesterday, it seems to have just exploded.

Coming back to Santa Clarita from Burbank this afternoon my husband remarked that it looked like a nuclear mushroom cloud. And it goes up for miles. Our air is disgusting. I hope all the people and animals are safe. Didn't they close that Wildlife Refuge on Little Tujunga Road? Otherwise those animals would be in real trouble.

I have cousins who live on Alta Canyada Road out there, haven’t heard from them in a few days... looks like they might be in the thick of it.

Checl out the bottom pic in post 146 on the thread that La Enchiladita just linked us too. It sure does look like a mushroom cloud.

My brother’s house is just a block north of the Greenridge Country Club. I’m so worried for him. He’s been out for 3 days now.
