President Barack Obama will speak at the AFL-CIO convention in Pittsburgh next month.
Obama will address the labor convention on Sept. 15. The organization endorsed Obama during last year's presidential election.
Labor unions have been vocal supporters of Obama's proposed health care overhaul. However, the incoming AFL-CIO president has expressed frustration with the president's wavering support of a government-run public option to cover those without health care insurance.
Obama will also travel to Pittsburgh later in the month for the economic summit of the world's top 20 industrial and developing economies.
Also, when was the last time a president addressed an AFL-CIO convention? (Or any other union convention, for that matter)
Wow. Sleeze giving a motivational speech to corruption.
Keep it up, unions. You’ve not got any future anyway - given that there will be no jobs if the Obamaloons keep it up.
Just wait and see how you’re treated under Obamaism (communism - but even more stupid).
Tony Soprano rewarding one of his Capos.
So is Big Ears going to double-down on the public option or find a way to let his base down gently?
What a love-fest that will be!
Keep it up Obango....You’re doomed!
Collectivist thugs of a feather flock together.
One reason that the unions want the public option — they want their pensions, quit (or be laid off) and have full healthcare.
After 3 fords and 4 GMs I think the thugs have gotten plenty from me. The japanese and german vehicles are looking better everyday

just when you thought that The One could not possibly cause more disruptions to life in Downtown Pittsburgh....
G-20 will basically be a shutdown of all economic activity in the area. No buses or light rail in or out, all parking garages closed. If you insist on coming to work you are being told to bring an overnight bag, because odds are you won’t be able to go home due to either protests or security protocols. Schools and Universities shut down. They are bringing in 27 miles of 7 ft. high fence to recreate the Baghdad Green Zone in Downtown Pittsburgh. Fearful businesses want to board up but are being told they “aren’t allowed” because it “looks bad on TV”. City council being told to slam-through laws on firearms and protesters that will have the city in court for the next ten years. And nobody is saying who will pay for it all. People are VERY ANGRY and not one word of that is getting out through our Hopey-Changey local media.

Have to disagree here. This is how I see it playing out:
Union demands cause various private sector businesses to fail
Card Check will be instituted causing the unionization of a gazillion private sector job.
Union demands cause what were otherwise profitable businesses to fail
Unions demand failing businesses to be saved by governemnt.
Government (read: You and me) will keep these businesses afloat.
Economy and non union jobs will go down the crapper
Government will take over negotiations with the unions who they will “wring concessions out of” during negotiations.
Any pre-arragned “concession” will be touted as a stunning victory for the Obama administration.
At least, that’s how I see it.
Now, don’t get too fancy now! When his Acorn goon squads come a calling, they might just “borrow” your auto in the name of obambi.

I hate the AFL-CIO. They are pigs, pretending to give a damn about wage - earners. Pathetic.
