President Obama will address a joint session of Congress on Sept 9.
This comes as the White House has been signaling publicly that they are ready to take charge of the health care debate.
So, this settles the 5th of the 5 health care strategy questions I laid out earlier on this blog today. The other 4 remain.

I hope so Jeff, but I just don't know if there will be the necessary 'critical mass' until he pushes his agenda through. I unfortunately believe that he will push it through with the willing assistance of the media and get-along RINOs. You don't know how much I hope to be wrong here.

I think it is his way of trying to fool people into thinking there is a crisis. He wants to try and create one (where one does not exist). I have never had an issue with health care. He wants to give it free to 30M+ people and says that won't cost anymore money. What a load of horse hockey.

This is classic Obama, who has made a carer of positioning himself as the voice of calm reason intermediating between the loonies of the left (Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright) and the crazies of the right (Sen. Tom Coburn, his unrepentant racist grandmother). Obama will want to assure moderates and centrists that he is truly one of them by pitching some part of the Pelosi-Reid agenda aside.
However! We will see if the “Fool me once” rule is invoked by the target centrist audience. If it is, the result for Obama could be disastrous - if he manages to anger lefties without placating moderates, he may end up losing more support than he gains.
