Muslim teen fears for life after changing religion

(CNN) -- A Muslim teenager from Ohio says her father threatened to kill her because she converted to Christianity.

This is a slam dunk, legally. All her defenders need do is run out the clock, and there is not a thing her family can do once she turns 18. Since she is not in danger in Florida, and is under “considerate care”, it would be close to reckless endangerment to try and return her to her family.

Importantly, the story continues after 18, if her family, or any member of that mosque, tries to pursue her further. She may likely need the equivalent of “witness protection”, from in the future.

Individuals or regimes that kill or otherwise persecute people for what they believe is the main way to recognize whether they are for us or against us.

If you look at the 911 terrorists, the one thing that makes them who they are is a willingness to kill infidels. We brought about a change of government in Afghanistan but let the new government treat apostasy as a capital offense.

By allowing religious persecution we lost Afghanistan to the same people we overthrew.

Religious freedom is the NUMBER ONE founding principle of this country. Each person has freedom of conscience as the foremost right.

Right after 911 when Bush said “You are either for us or against us”

I was pleased to hear such tough talk but I gave some talk about how best to identify friend or foe.

With religious freedom as the yardstick you can compile a list of friends and enemies.

China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait all deserve to be called and we should have brought about regime change in those as well.

It’s too late now.

Now with us failing to aggressively confront the same evil in the US, we are about to become an enemy to the America that once was.

I think she just recently turned 17 so she has many months until she turns 18. She needs to come down with some dreadful illness and not show up in court on Thursday. Her attorney would have to file a delay. Then he can have a conflict that day with another case so another delay. Then file for emancipation followed by the witness protection program.
