Asked if controversial White House official Van Jones continues to enjoy the confidence of President Obama given recent revelations about his involvement with those who suggest the Bush administration knew about the 9/11 attacks and allowed them to happen in order to justify a war for oil, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs Friday morning would only say "he continues to work in this administration."
Jones, the Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, last night issued a statement apologizing for past controversial remarks and said a petition which he signed suggesting that President Bush "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen" perhaps to justify war in Afghanistan or Iraq, "does not reflect my views now or ever."
An administration source said Jones says he did not carefully review the language in the petition before agreeing to add his name. But this morning it became known that Jones was on the organizing committee of a 2002 march making similar insinuations and allegations.

He’ll be joining Rev Wright and Grandma under the bus before the day is through.
I just gave Jake an “atta boy” on Twitter.
Wow what an edorsement :)
He’ll tender his resignation on Monday. At first I thought Tuesday, but if this is the current response, they’ll try to bury him on a slow newsday.
No, he did not. He issued a statement apologizing if his controversial remarks offended anyone.
I would think that the Whitehouse would have simply fired him by now — what is the holdup? This guy does not deserve the usual dignified “opportunity to resign”.
Sincerely,
B. Hussein Obama
Power to the People
BamBam says, "I just keep flippin' 'em off and they keep takin' it! LOL!"
It’ll happen tonight, around dinner time. The ultimate news dump time.
Which adds less fuel to this fire? Canning him now (at which point scrutiny of all B.O.’s Czars becomes more legit) or just ignoring this story and letting it continue to seeth?
I am sure the One’s team of idiots is trying to figure this one out......along with what he “believes” on health reform on Wednesday, and his opinion on Zelaya, and his thoughts on Afghanistan, etc, etc......

Let's push our media to ask for a copy of Van Johnson's application. For that matter any of the folks where are paid by the Whitehouse as a Czar.
“...what is the holdup?”
The current administration agrees with Mr. Van Jones’ views on America, Americans (whites ones especially) and capitalism! There is no “hold up,” they don’t want to let him go because he and Dear Leader Obamao are both anti-American, anti-capitalism, pro-communist SOBs!!!
So, the RED in Obamao wants to allow the RED in Van Jones to leave with dignity, while allowing Obamao to seem surprised and disgusted by these “new revelations!” Sorry, I just threw up a little typing that BS!
Even Bob Beckel says he has GOT TO GO!
Oh, to have a thousand Jake Tappers in the press today.
I like Jake too, but I have to level a little criticism as well. I looked, and the first mention by Tapper with respect to Van Jones came yesterday - long after it had become a major story in the more right-leaning media circles. My question to Jake would be, didn't any of Jones' other comments - especially the ones that were recorded on video and audio tapes - draw your attention enough to look into this guy.
What Jones has signed or said or supported with regards to 9/11 is just plain idiotic. Some of the other things - which he unquestionably wrote or said - are down right frightening. It's too bad no other member of the MSM thought so, at least not enough to comment about them.
I slammed Jake several times last night because he INITIALLY said that Jones was only questioning 9/11.
I reminded him that he earlier said that “truthers” were as bad as “birthers”. Between last night and this morning he apparently learned enough to write disparagingly of Jones. I actually think Jones will resign soon.
I am reading Jake Tapper’s “Down & Dirty’ right now about the Florida recount. I have heard it is evenhanded even though Tapper [via Wikipedia] is a very Left Lefty.
In firing Jones, 0bamba would be admitting he hired the wrong person.
When has 0bama ever admitted an error?
Even in tossing Rev. Wright under the bus, he did not say “I misjudged the Reverend”, he said “This is not the Reverend Wright I have known all these years”, implying “He pulled a fast one on me”.
Van Jones: “Wow, it’s dark down here!”
