Obama Is Fast Losing White Voters' Support
His approval ratings with the crucial bloc have plunged since April. Strategists say the healthcare debate is largely to blame, but that's not the only reason.

Reporting from Washington - After a summer of healthcare battles and sliding approval ratings for President Obama, the White House is facing a troubling new trend: The voters losing faith in the president are the ones he had worked hardest to attract.
New surveys show steep declines in Obama's approval ratings among whites -- including Democrats and independents -- who were crucial elements of the diverse coalition that helped elect the country's first black president.
Among white Democrats, Obama’s job approval rating has dropped 11 points since his 100-days mark in April, according to surveys by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press.
It has dropped by 9 points among white independents and whites over 50, and by 12 points among white women -- all groups that will be targeted by both parties in next year's midterm elections.
"While Obama has a lock on African Americans, his support among white voters seems to be almost in a free fall," said veteran Republican pollster Neil Newhouse.
Strategists in both parties blame Obama's decline on growing discontent with his policy agenda, particularly after a month of often-rowdy debate over his proposed healthcare overhaul, in which some conservatives accused him of socialism. Obama's ratings seem likely to rise again if he wins passage of healthcare legislation this fall.

I beg to differ. Cap N Tax is reversable with simple legislation. Giving free health insurance to people and socializing the medical system will be for all intents and purposes impossible. Defeating Obamacare is paramount.

I believe when all is said and done Obama will not seek re-election. It’s pretty obvious now that the Dems are going to get hammered in the mid-term. They’ll probably go into rope-a-dope mode after that. Hillary will resign at some point and the Dem primary field will be overflowing with wannabe’s.
A lot of the nitwits who pay little attention to current affairs but thought they were voting for racial progress are apparently having second thoughts. “Yikes,” they say to themselves after finally hearing about Obama’s latest Marxist exercise “that’s not what we voted for.” Except it is what they voted for, and now they’re having recriminations.
The national liberal media was complicit with the notion that most whites voted against Obama simply on racial grounds. As if conservatives would have voted for Obama in record numbers if he white. The whole idea is so preposterous...well, only nutty libs would believe it. But they do.
Funny how the majority of those bumper stickers have fast disappeared. Where’s the love gone?

One of my life long friends from the 60's is a black guy who was a demonRAT and while he was earning big bucks he remained a demonRAT {mostly from habit}.
When his dad died in late 90's and he saw how much money the government took from the estate he switched parties and has been a pubbie ever since.
We had lunch last week and he told me that while he voted against obama he won't admit it to his black friends because he doesn't want the hassle.
My guess is there are quite a few more blacks like him that don't want to be criticized by their friends and relatives.
The comparisons to Lincoln are gone too.
This healthcare thing and the czars thing are starting to have an impact on the libs in my family. They hate to admit it because I was pretty verbal during the election, but they are starting to express distrust and dismay. Comments like "well, Obama is just another politician"., etc.
