One superintendent in my town backed off under those threats.
She said the students could opt-out of the speech but parents were upset they had to put their political beliefs down on a piece of paper.
That may lead to lawsuits.
Now that The White House was forced to change the speech from a propaganda speech created to manipulate parents through their students there is no problem at all with the text of the speech.
We all know though that this was not the speech Obama was originally going to give. The liberals will act like it was but that cat was already out of the bag.

That is completely inappropriate. Can you imagine if George W. Bush had given such a speech and said, “I am trying to get your parents school vouchers so they can get you out of these failing public schools and into the quality private schools.”

I was taught in school in the 1950s and 60s that America was the land of freedom and opportunity for all. How should we now make our country more fair and more free? Obama's big government that took over the car industry, banking, insurance, etc. and sets executive salary levels? Or Obamacare? Or cap and trade? This is all about the Marxist philosophy of economic justice and redistribution of wealth.
