Joe Kennedy says he won’t run for senate (YES!!!)

Joseph P. Kennedy II said today he will not make a bid for the senate seat held by his late uncle Edward M. Kennedy, in a bombshell announcement expected to draw candidates-in-waiting out from the wings.

“Given all that my uncle accomplished, it was only natural to consider getting back involved in public office, and I appreciate all the calls of support and friendship that have poured in,” Kennedy said in a statement posted on the web site of Citizens Energy, of which he is the founder.

“My father called politics an honorable profession, and I have profound respect for those who choose to advance the causes of social and economic justice in elective office,” Kennedy said. “After much consideration, I have decided that the best way for me to contribute to those causes is by continuing my work at Citizens Energy Corporation.”

The U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts is a hereditary seat and always must be occupied by a Kennedy, sorry.

You're nasty. Keep it up! :)

Kennedys in rehab? I think they skip that and go straight for the lobotomy.

Unfortunately, the Kennedy dynasty isn't dead yet. Joe II has son Joe III waiting in the wings (Harvard Law School grad).

(Go, Curt!)

Patches (Patrick Kennedy - the rapist) will run or Ted Jr. Just watch - these corrupt dems will bring someone up. I hope Curt runs. I’ll vote for him. Actually I vote for anyone WITHOUT a (D) next to their name and in this state - sadly - that’s hard to find.

I once met a weird lib woman who was plugged into the DC set back in the Camelot days. Her hubby worked at a bank in a famous foreign banking capital where they ski. He died and she became a lesbian.

This old pretenious broad bored me for over an hour. She started talking about john john and said he was Ari’s kid. She said it was known in all the diplomatic circles. I knew one of her children so I knew the family background. I wish I had asked her if all Dems hide their money offshore because I bet she knew.

I know Lee (her sister) was buddies with Ari. She went on the trip but that was after John John was born I think.

In looking at Joe III - it reminded me of John John again (rest his soul as he was not like his family). Joe III has the whole red hair irish thing going plus the Kennedy mouth.

John John had an olive complexion and did not have Kennedy features at all. He did not have the Kennedy mouth and teeth. No other Kennedy man was even close to being as handsome as he was.

Paralyzed victim of Joe K crash: Skinflint won’t help Woman says he cried poor-mouth
Boston Herald (MA) - Wednesday, August 31, 2005
Author: LAUREL J. SWEET and MAGGIE MULVIHILL

Joseph P. Kennedy II, who built upon his family fortune with a lucrative career of his own since leaving politics, allegedly told a Hyannis mother he left paralyzed for life in a car crash 32 years ago that he is “broke” and won’t be her financial crutch any longer.

“I’m broke. I work for a non-profit. I’m not a bottomless pit ,” the chairman of Citizens Energy Corp. and former congressman allegedly told Pamela Burkley, whom he knew in their star-crossed youth on Cape Cod as Pam Kelley - his late brother David’s girlfriend.

Kennedy denies through his lawyer that he made the remarks.

Though she acknowledges Kennedy , 52, has thrown some $50,000 her way over the years, Burkley, 50, told the Herald, “I feel like he thinks I’m a piece of trash sitting in a wheelchair.”

The divorced mother of a 16-year-old girl said she earns $57,000 a year as executive director of the Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled and suffers from reccuring bladder cancer.”I’m realizing my body is starting to give out on me,” she said.

“I just want to live my life and plant my plants, play with my dogs and watch my daughter grow up. As I age, I’m getting nervous and less independent. And I’m tired.”

(snip)

Van Jones’ elimination likely made it clear to Joe that Americans don’t want admitted Commies in government.
