The female AP photographer was obviously with the Marine unit when they were ambushed. One has to wonder if the photographer distracted the Marines at the crucial moment. Did she give away their position? Did her presence cause the Marines to be more concerned with protecting her than each other? Bottom line: WTF was she doing out there in the first place?

I'm willing to bet that the on-scene commander was in control of the situation. Had she been a threat to his men she wouldn't be there.

She's just doing her job. It's her editor's or higher up's decision to publish the photo.

Women should not be in combat for the obvious reason they are distracting the male soldiers from their primary duty of killing the bad guys.

I wonder what that photographer is doing with the Marines now? If she was attached to my group I would give her an earful.
