In other news, social security is going bankrupt because people are living too long.

This finding seems to relate to sugary soft drinks, not diet drinks (which may carry their own hazards).

Whoops, the article does state that aspartame can lead to fatty liver but I find that somewhat difficult to believe.

I'm already dead. Too many Cokes, Root Beers, 7 Ups. My ghost is writing this reply.

Is it connected to the fructose(yes, there’s fructose in sucrose too...) in soft drinks, by any chance.
To: GeronL
I’ve been drinking 3-4 Pepsi’s a day for decades...I am 70 and have braimdamage. But when you get old, you blame everything on age...including spelling...

Going by this article, I should have died years ago.
I want to hang around long enough for one of Obama’s czars to tell me to take a pill.

Hey does 3 or 4 a day have benefits? It's the first two that do the damage ("Two soft drinks a day...").
So skip the first two, and go directly to the third, fourth, fifth, ...!!! (snicker)
