Washington, DC --(AmmoLand.com)- Data released by the FBIs National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) reported 1,074,757 checks in August 2009, a 12.3 percent increase from the 956,872 reported in August 2008.
So far that is roughly 9,076,205 gun bought this year! The total is probably more as NICS background checks may cover the purchase of more than one gun at a time.

me too. Obama is the #1 gun salesman in the US.
Challenge us Obama!
Me too! LOL
Obama is the greatest gun salesman in the world!
Related: I have seen small communities host CCW classes in their public meeting rooms as well, and that, I don’t remember seeing ever before.
That is so cool. Wish it was like that every year...not just when people were afraid that they were gonna be banned.
Neither Carter nor Clinton inspired anything like this.
A rare piece of good news.
The neatest thing is, instead of giving in, they have decided that if there is going to be a ban then they are going to bog down the gummit in the biggest way possible.
You know? We really do buy a lot of guns judging from these numbers.
I’m looking to buy a Kel-tec micro 380 P-3AT anyone know the cheapest and best way to pursue that, how about the internet?
Wal-Mart
McDonald's
Gun and ammunition dealers
Liquor stores
Debt consolidation scams
Oh! The bright and shining day awaits us!
Well at least I have enough ammunition. I'm going to shoot most of it at the next Appleseed Shoot.

Me and my boys have done our part...
Next to the immediate resignation of the jOker, this is the best kind of news.
Where is the coresponding increase in blood in the streets?
It’s not there because these are all purchased by law abiding citizens.
Good luck. Keltec only puts out limited inventory. They are “a small company that wants to keep it that way”.
I bought a Keltec PF-9 from a local mom&pop dealer a while back for like $240.
I don’t think you can purchase handguns over the internet? I dunno.
I also wonder if my Remington 7MM mag 3 shot bolt action can be expanded to accommodate a magazine of between 5 to 25 rounds?
You can.
Just picked up 500 rounds of 380 auto myself. Only took 6 months on backorder.
Strange that Obama hasn’t touted this as a sign that his stimulus plan is working.
That’s back when some people still believed in democrats. The public smartened up.
I have a Ruger LCP and they are in stock here:
http://www.impactguns.com/store/ruger_centerfire_handguns.html
I’m doing my best.
Three in six months.
You can make the purchase over the internet, but you need to have a local gun shop take delivery of the handgun and handle the paperwork (usually a $30 - $50 fee is involved); check around to see who’s willing to do that for you (some gun dealers won’t). You may have to fax a signed copy of the dealer’s FFL to the vendor before they’ll ship.
And not reported, but a huge percentage of sales were for Evil Black Rifles, short(er) barreled shotguns, and handguns in serious defensive calibers. While .22s for plinking, and sporting shotguns are always nice, people are concentrating on putting the POWER in firepower.
At my local hangout, they've noticed that things have slowed down from "insane" to "brisk". Except for ammo.
I would strongly suggest finding a private seller. You may pay more, but there is no paperwork.
Sorry for the bad link, it won’t let me link to the direct auction page but if you do a search on the gunbroker website you will find plenty to bid on
I wonder about pistols for self defense and concealed carry, wouldn’t it be best for them to be registered and formally purchased?
I just received a phone call from the NRA. An audio message from Wayne LaPierre informed the listener that the UN wants the US to abolish gun ownership by private individuals.
I am not surprised to hear this. I always knew that the UN is an organization whose goal is the domination and control of all nations under that silly baby-blue flag.
It goes without saying that the US is expected to become a “team player” and not try to assume a leadership role except when blood has to be spilled and money wasted in keeping this world half-assed safe.
My little brother attended a gun show in Florida this weekend and he said those were selling like hot cakes.
Don't know much about them, but I've seen them in the Midway Shooting Supplies catalog. As for a 25-round magazine for your Remington, I guess one could be fashioned sort of like the WWI-era Mauser "trench" magazines (useful only while standing in a trench; there's no way to flop down prone and shot with that sucker attached).
Prvi Partisan Plant blew up, will be 6months for production picks up again.Buy NOW!
That’s sweet. I gotta still get 2 more....... at least.
How do you come down on the comparison between the two 380s?
They have one model for 245.99, plus of course shipping and going through a licensed dealer for delivery. Personally I would rather hunt down a dealer and buy one from the store, much less hassle involved.
Welcome news. Puts a great big grin on my face.
I like the looks of it. It's not on the Kalifornia "Not Unsafe Hanguns" roster, so I can't get it yet. How do you like it?
I just got a thousand rounds of their "non-penetrator" 62gr 5.56mm last week. It was a long wait, and looks like it will be again. Actually, it quite easy to blow through a few hundred rounds a time at a range session.
Accident, or "direct action"?
I’ve not shot the Kel-Tec, but the Ruger is very popular right now as well.
See this, though:

God bless John Moses Browning!
Sorry, numbers don't back that up. About 86% of US Jews voted for obozo, according to Jerusalem Post, reported at about obozo's 100th day.
Thanks for the url.
I have already been reading some reviews. I get a little compulsive about research before I purchase something like this and I’m not sure that I really gain anything from it.
I think I’ll look at the Kahr P380 also but it just came out and it is VERY expensive (for a 380).
I found the auction page, thanks.
