Cass Sunstein, President Barack Obamas nominee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), has advocated a policy under which the government would presume someone has consented to having his or her organs removed for transplantation into someone else when they die unless that person has explicitly indicated that his or her organs should not be taken.
Under such a policy, hospitals would harvest organs from people who never gave permission for this to be done.

beginning to sound like China.
All your organs are belong to us.
“This makes me even more uneasy about Obamacare. who determines when you are ready to donate?”
A nameless govt crat.
ONe difference between here and China, we’re armed.
Reminds me of the Monty Python skit.
“We’ve come for your Kidney.”
“But I’m not done with it yet!”
at least in China they shoot you first
Here I thought it was such an absurd, grotesque joke when it was a prediction of the future.
If we don’t get this guy removed quickly all hell will break loose.
The CNS headline makes it sound like they might remove organs without consent while you’re still alive.
Even though that’s not what they meant to imply, these days you never know...
What an odd thing to “presume”.
beginning to sound like China.
Some how, this is connected to the NJ Mob of Corruptocrats that were arrested for human organ trafficing. I wonder if the NJ mob is connected to Cas
Sustein? Hmmmm!
This creep should be the next to go. Savage opened up on him today.
Are they going to let the person die first or will they kill them for the good of the masses?
More fundamentally, they aren't the government's organs.
The Jews will love that.
“at least in China they shoot you first”
Would you like to wager on that? They harvest organs from the incarcerated while these inmates are alive and kicking.
Can we presume that all of Mr. Sunstein’s belongings, including his car, stereo, DVD collection, and so forth, are to be donated to me, unless I am provided explicit consent?
China’s CCP harvests organs from living prisoners

Former Canadian Secretary of State, David Kilgour (R) and European Parliament VP Edward McMillan-Scott in Australia in 2006, to raise awareness about forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China.(Secret China)
A recent headline in a well-respected U.S. weekly caught my eye and shocked me. How can any nation stoop so low and commit such acts? I had known for a while that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was accused of having harvested organs from living inmates, to be sold to the highest bidder, for huge profits, and that certain prisoners are the most sought-after victims because of their physical health. Ever more verifiable information about these horrid acts coming out of China, though, seems to leave people fairly nonchalant. Why? Because of their own profit motive, perhaps? Or because they don’t want to “rock the boat” and get on the CCP’s wrong side? Is there a “right” side to the CCP?
No matter which side, Ethan Gutman, a reporter for The Weekly Standard, traveled to Bangkok, to meet with a Chinese woman who had survived organ harvesting attempts and was fortunate to have fled to Thailand. She is a practitioner of the spiritual movement Falun Gong, which the CCP has banned in China since 1999 because the Party’s power brokers feel threatened by the sheer numbers of Chinese people who practice according to Truth, Compassion and Tolerance, the major tenets of the belief system.
The practitioners outnumber those who hold membership in the communist party. As the repression of the belief system became ever more stringent, practitioners of Falun Gong were arrested, summarily incarcerated, stripped of their jobs, forced into labor camps, or condemned to stays in psychiatric hospitals, all at the whim of the Party, and without benefit of any legal procedures. And,if a family attempted to hire legal representation, more often than not the attorney would at least be subjected to severe threats or intimidation, or have his law practice shut down, or,in several instances, would be incarcerated, too.
The first reports of large-scale organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in Northern China emerged in 2006. Of course the procedures killed them. And, to erase all traces of these people ever having existed, the officials immediately cremated their bodies. Harvested were livers, kidneys, hearts, corneas and other body parts, and these were offered on open websites to anyone willing to pay the price - Chinese or foreigners.
The practice goes back to the 1980s. The army was pressed into service, to assure no snoops would investigate.
Gutmann had spoken with a former police officer who had once sneaked up to one of the vehicles and unzipped the body bag stashed inside. The corpse’s chest had been “picked clean.”
41,500 unexplained ‘donors’
Gutmann says:”My Bangkok back alley contact only confirmed what I had been told by another friend: that the allegations against the CCP are true. A couple of years ago the wife or a surgeon let it be known that her husband had removed hundreds or corneas from Falun Gong practitioners while working in the Northern China Sujiatun Hospital. All but my magazine and “National Review” ignored the report.”
Two Canadian attorneys, David Matas and David Kilgour have thoroughly investigated allegations of organ harvesting and are still waiting for the CCP to explain where the organs came from for 41,500 transplant cases. The Chinese regime, besides its usual propaganda denials, suddenly decreed that from now on, sales of organs without the donor’s consent are forbidden.
Ms. Qu was not the only one interviewed; 16 Falun Gong practitioners in all, the lucky ones, now living in various places around the world, told similar stories of medical examinations while incarcerated. They got out of China alive. But how many thousands did not?
Gutmann concludes: “We may have to live with the Chinese Communist party, for now. For that matter, we can console ourselves that there are no bones, for now. There will be none until the party falls and the Chinese people begin to sift through the graves and ashes. We are all allowed a touch of compassion fatigue—it’s understandable. But make no mistake: ....and now that the Olympic Games are over, and the cameras have turned away, they roam the earth again.”
What can the free world do, to if not stop,at least lessen these organ harvesting atrocities? Expose, expose, expose, and from a practical standpoint, boycott Chinese medical conferences, sever medical ties and refuse to send medical equipment to China, until the regime is willing to “fess up” to their abominable actions.
